Palpation of the gluteus maximus. 👍👍
This short video clip is an excerpt of a longer video lesson that is on Digital COMT, my video streaming subscription service. 🌟🌟
The gluteus maximus is engaged by asking the client to laterally rotate the thigh at the hip joint and then lift the thigh into extension (keeping the knee in full extension). 🌟🌟
It is important to discern the borders of the gluteus maximus because it does not cover the entire posterior pelvic region. 🌟
BTW, the glut max is often called the “speedskater’s muscle” because its motion pattern is extension and lateral rotation (and abduction) of the thigh at the hip joint. and certainly speed skaters have extremely well-developed gluteus maximus muscles. 😊😊

Adductor Magnus acts like a shelf that the rest of the adductors sit on. 👍👍
This video excerpt is from a longer video lesson on Digital COMT, my video streaming subscription service for manual therapists and movement professionals. 🌟🌟
The adductor group, from lateral to medial and superficial to deep is composed of the ✨✨✨✨✨
Adductor Longus ✨
Adductor Brevis ✨
Adductor Magnus ✨
We see the adductor brevis is immediately deep to the adductor longus, and both of them, along with the pectineus and gracilis (also known as the adductor gracilis) sit on the more posterior adductor magnus, a massively large and under appreciated muscle! 👍👍

🗣I do NOT DO BRAIDLESS SEWINS keyword 👉🏾SEWIN .... that means it requires thread 🧵.. I do NOT APPLY THREAD TO THE HAIR 🙅🏾♀️❌ PeriodT. I’m not knocking braidless sewins FYI. Everyone is now saying they do microlinks, the newest hottest method right now. Yes they can technically say it because they use microbeads which is the same thing as a #microlink which is a small bead or link used to attach extensions. There are different METHODS OUT HERE THAT USE #MICROLINKS. I only do one method that I was PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED TO DO. So I suggest you guys ask questions like “WHO IN THE HELL TRAINED YOU” 🤣🤣🤣if your looking for the method I’m doing. This method is NOT ON YOU TUBE . Its very important to be trained for a reason believe me. Just because you have figured out how to install doesn’t mean you should be doing this , your just scratching the surface. I’m seeing a lot of clients getting screwed out here, for lil money and big money 💴 . Money is money.
I invested in myself . I have to know what I’m doing , I can’t guess and I don’t let randoms with edited videos on YouTube teach me. I go straight to the source. And I continue to learn in classes as we all should. #stopguessing#continuingeducation is very important 😎😎 #microlinks#hairbydany

Assistance Movement of the Day: Pectoral Around the Worlds.
Given that my shoulders are absolutely shot, I elected this movement to take some of the pressure off. Huge fan of this workout for working the lower pecs. This is a great alternative to the decline bench, which is the go to for most lifters.
The key with the around the worlds is choosing a setting that makes sense. Choose one you think is appropriate and then choose one lighter. It should be a controlled and concise movement. If not, you lose efficiency and you sort of stupid... check it out 😜😜😜 #OtherWorldly#DiversifyYourLifts#ContinuingEducation#AlwaysAStudent#BuildTheShelf#PullHard#powerlift#fitfam

Check out our #mmtofthemonth! Meredith is a dedicated member of MMT who is making strides in the world of pediatric medical music therapy!
“I have been working at Michigan Medicine’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital for five years. Throughout my time with the health system, I have had the opportunity to work alongside many patients and families. I have many amazing memories, moving stories, and experiences of how these families have shaped me into the clinician I am today.
Along with my love for pediatric music therapy, the support of the amazing Child and Family Life Team at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, and other music therapists both in Michigan and Ohio (where I am from) have been encouraging and inspiring.
A recent highlight I would like to share with MMT is for congenital heart awareness month, Mott featured a story of how music therapists utilize heartbeat recordings as a powerful intervention for patients undergoing heart transplants. Feel free to check out the story here: ! It is always an honor to be a part of patients’ journeys, and this story really captured my heart strings (no pun intended 😉). Thank you to MMT for the opportunity to be highlighted as the Member of the Month! And, thank you to all music therapists a part of MMT for their work with their specific populations!” #continuingeducation#musictherapy#advocacy
