#flashbackfriday to my one and only solo half marathon, of course it had to be along the Busselton foreshore! Still my 13.1 mile PB at 1:42:31. Aiming to beat that time as part of #im703busso this coming May. The anticipation (and sometimes the training) is killing me! #teamim703busso2019@im703busso
So my new du matches my #running shoes (& today my #positivevibes tank). Also, speaking of running I think I figured out my heart rate issues at the follow-up from my recent labs. I was a little blindsided to see my cholesterol is wonkyAF. High is 200 & mine is 316. The good news is my good cholesterol & triglycerides are good but my bad cholesterol is very bad. It's supposed to be under 100 and mine is 186. So that could explain why my heart rate has been driving me crazy on my runs, trying to keep it in the burn zone and outta the max zone. So the doc was as shocked as me, since I'm pretty fit, exercise a lot, have a not perfect but pretty healthy diet. Heredity and stress factors I don't have a lot of control over. This #write hand trauma has most def taken a toll. I don't mind exercising more cuz that's aka #stresstherqoy but I guess I'm gonna have to dig deeper with tweaking the diet further. Luckily she didn't just throw down an RX. I have 4 weeks to try and whip dem damn ldls into shape so I don't need more meds. Makes me wonder if whipping this into shape will whip my bp into shape? Anyway, that's the game plan. #postcardfromtheloveshackbabyyeah#postcardfromarun 2.19 mile #treadmill#run#yearofthepig challenge 2 minute #plank#plankaday 140 #squats w/10lbs #squatchallenge#corelove#getuplaceupshowupstepupliftupNEGU
“Change is the only constant”... which is our way of letting you know we have made changes to our Saturday 50km & 25km events. We have been working with local land owners to create a unique trail running course through private land and bush trails to the summit of Richardson’s Peak (360 degree views from the coast to Barrington Tops). This course will only be accessible during Run Dungog. A huge thank you to the farmers who are opening their gates. Sign up for the 50km trail loop or the 25km out and back. As you can see from the course map it will be epic and stunning. #rundungog

The Spear Throw !!.. Has proven to be a decider in a few of the recent races! After having a good run with them last year I have to be honest, became a little to comfortable with it and stopped putting in the practice it deserved, which cost me a spot on the podium for the first race of the year ! Over the last month I have put in the most amount of work to date with my training. I am feeling stronger and faster and can’t wait to put it to the test next weekend down at the first stop of the National Series @spartanraceau down in Melbourne.
Swipe left for some of my training post 🏃🏼♂️
DON’T BE DISTRACTED BY COMPETITION, FEAR, SELF-DOUBT OR WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING.
Those are all of the stumbling blocks that keep us from our goal- in life- but ESPECIALLY in running!
Running provides such a direct comparison with workout times, race PR’s-& our mega access to everyone’s info via social media- probably doesn’t help us with this. Competition can be a great tool that can challenge us - because iron sharpens iron. But the ugly side of competition is an obsession on how you stack up to everyone else. I think it’s SO important to check your heart & guard against this. That kind of competition will rob you of your joy & keep you from celebrating others’ success. A journey where you’re isolated because you’re so threatened by everyone else sounds like a lonely one.
Fear stops dreamers in their tracks everyday. It stops them with imaginary scenarios that haven’t even played out. It forces them to make safe moves & focus more on self-protection than wild success. It taunts them with the idea of failure- as if it’s the worst thing that could happen to them. It’s not- the worst thing that can happen is if you’re too scared to act on your God-given talent & live small.
How many times do you have an amazing workout & then after you’re flooded with self-doubt? All of the good & amazing things in your trajectory are overwhelmed with all of the reasons why you can’t. Self-doubt will take over if you let those thoughts run wild. 👉🏽OTHERS’ NOISE
You cannot let small thinkers rob you of your big goals. Period. Don’t let people who are scared to put themselves out there keep you from chasing down the things you want. People will always talk. Don’t be so scared of their chatter that it paralyzes you. No message boards can convince me that I’m not destined to succeed.
We have the opportunity everyday to embrace our passion & enjoy the ride. Or we can get choked up by all of these things & let them rob us of our joy & peace -& ultimately distract us from pursuing the success we want & deserve. But like- WHY WOULD WE?! We have the choice. What we focus on, grows. Don’t focus on the wrong things!❤️
