It’s been raining here for a long time, but tomorrow is supposed to be sunny! 🥳 I’m thinking about putting my trail shoes on in the morning to see how muddy I can get.🌳🏃🏻♀️
Not in this white outfit though! 🙅🏻♀️😁 PC: @amyrbrts
I have been taking a step back from my from my competitive side here is why:
Though when I get very competitive I may achieve “the best”, I do not feel MY best.
I may push myself harder and achieve more, but my mental health gets worse. I will get very high moments, but far more lows.
I find that when I take a step back, I can look at my motives from a clearer perspective. See that if the best is not happy, then why do I want to be it? 🤔
I use to feel like I was constantly in a competition with anyone and anything. I never entered any sort of competition, but to me life was one big one. I felt like if I was not at the top, then I was nothing. But I have found that the times I am at the “top” are when I most feeling like “nothing”.
That the times I feel the “best” are when I give MYSELF the recognition for my progression. When I compare myself, only to myself. 👌
Forever your only competition will be with yourself, and so let us make that competition beneficial.
Running yourself into the ground will not make you better than you. You on the ground- is how you know that it is time to take a higher perspective. ✨💛
So I am taking a step “back” so that I can see more clearer the things that are already in front of me, and I think this puts me ahead in the long run. ✊🏻
This might seem like a basic pose to you, but for me it’s a milestone. I live with chronic back pain and had emergency spine surgery over a year ago. I never thought I’d be able to extend my spine again, much less do most of what you see on my page. The body is a beautiful living changing experience, never give up on it. Day 6 #asanasonfire 💥Our base pose is locust pose. This is a great pose to build strength in your back core muscles and back body. I’m adding some fire by taking a hand clasp🔥

Never force anything, just let it be.
If it’s meant to be, it will be. .
We don’t have the power to control outcomes or the way others feel, but we do have the strength to be vulnerable, and risk sadness and disappointment along the path to our dreams... whether it’s in love, work, pike pressing to handstand or whatever 😂. Along the way, we discover new things about ourselves that we would never see or experience if we weren’t out there living and doing. “This place where I am right now was circled on a map for me” was the mantra given to me by @nuurvana this week. Know that the universe has your back and be proud of yourself for showing up for yourself.

This evening kicks off weekend 4 of YTT! Last night I was reading Being of Power to my husband before bed (super fun way to get my reading done for YTT btw) and I was reading the chapter titled “Let it Be” this was super hard for me to swallow because the whole chapter was about not trying to fix everything or change things, but rather to accept things exactly as they are. I used to be a total free spirit. In fact my parents would even refer to me in that way. But ever since graduating from college, I feel like my job as an event planner and being forced into adulthood has made me such a planner and a fixer to the point where I’m starting to not recognize myself. Now don’t get me wrong, I am happy to be more organized than I was in college and before. Organization is a good thing. But I have started to plan every detail of my life and it’s just getting out of hand😅 it was refreshing and challenging to read that we must accept things as is before real change can happen because what we resist persists. Especially because after recognizing that I’ve become such a planner and fixer, my first instinct is to ask “how do I fix this!?” 🙈😂So to end this little caption, I’m not going to offer any positive spin on this or any sort of solution. I’m just putting this out there for y’all to read, and for myself as a way to accept where I’m at in life and just be with it ✨🌸
Happy Friday loves 💕

Puppy pose is one of the best heart openers out there. I practice this pose way more than wheel or camel or any of those other backbends, mostly because it is so simple and so versatile. You can do extended puppy pose with your hands to the wall or a window sill. You can use blocks underneath your elbows to intensify, or if you have extended arms you can lift your knees off the ground pressing further into your chest to deepen. And you can even do this bound version I discovered a while ago, which feels amazing if you are comfortable in traditional puppy pose 😌 choose the variation that is right for you, and if you are looking to really open up your shoulders and upper back, practice this one a few times per week 😘 for day 5 of #lovechakrachallenge 🥰

I hope you live a life you
are proud of, one that is full
of stories you are excited
to share; do not leave this
world, as an empty book.
Feeling like sunshine in my @aloyoga leggings 💛
If your life was a book, what kind of story would you be?
Mine would be a fairytale, full of adventure and romance 🥰
Earth is one thing we all have in common,
we should treat it with respect, love and kindness.
What are you doing to live a more sustainable life?
Today in my stories I shared a few things you can switch to reduce your plastic usage and overall your footprint! (After 24h you will find them in my highlights under “grounding”). I talked a lot lately how to take care of yourself, to bring more gratitude and love in your life. How to feel balance and grounded when we need it. It’s time to put this energy we created out in the world. Helping the earth to remain that amazing place it is!
Share with me your efforts, suggestions or even tag pages that have inspired you to be more eco conscious! Let’s spread the knowledge!
Before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams, master the lessons we’ve learned as we’ve moved toward that dream. That’s the point at which most people give up. - The Alchemist
Hang in there! You might be closer to your dreams than you think... In @aloyoga#aloyoga and @myluckykarma
