The first time I saw someone doing a chin stand I thought they were insane. And today here I am, attempting a scorpion chin stand for the second time in my life, with @donkakong holding my butt and making sure I don’t kill myself. 🖤
Also, if you’ve never taken her class, do it. It’ll change your life.

Day 3: Funky #BowPose
Happy Saturday night, fam! Welp, I made it to base camp one. I feel like I did 1000 things today, but didn’t actually get anything done. Still a lot of laundry. Always so much laundry. 😐😅 I’ve been digging all of your funky poses, and have already saved a few to try out myself. Thanks for the inspo! 🤩 Tomorrow we want to see your funky bows! 🎀 I’m still so in love with this little bow-cobra-mermaid-ish mashup. It’s sooooo cute! 😍🥰 Make sure to check out Britnee’s stellar variation! #likewhoa I can’t wait to see yours! xoxo💋

I know, I know.. I've been posting so much with this gorgeous posture lately. I feel like it embodies why I practice physical yoga & beyond...
This posture requires simultaneous strength & flexibility. It is the epitome of being strong & resilient, but also free & malleable... The ability to remain still and calm through life's struggles..
..it also exemplifies the ability to be at the same time gorgeous & brilliant, while also being sturdy & powerful.
I just love this #pinchamayurasana#hollowback#backbend#forearmwheel#heartopener combination. 💟 So basically, I'm #sorrynotsorry
Let’s work on understanding core engagement in #heartopeners for Day 3 of #yogabodymoves2 -
Our base posture is #halfmoonpose with a bend added (Nadia has that for you), and Meg has some great drills for you to understand how to engage your back muscles and to feel the difference in engagement of those muscles and the front core muscles.
So let’s put that same theory to work in our #yogatransitions - we are working with #cobrapose or #updog and also utilizing quite a few jump backs in our flow. When in the cobra #backbend focus on the activation of your back muscles and when you jump back try to focus on the engagement of your front body. I have used a straight leg jump back where I lift my feet and then take my legs back (the video is sped up a lot so it’s a little hard to see) - do this if you can. You can also jump back however works for you, but concentrate on leaning over your hands a little and engaging the front of your core before going back. As in previous days, pay attention to the engagement in cobra compared with your jump back so you can see how it feels to use those back muscles instead of those front body muscles when #backbending -

🕺🏻⚗️🗝 Day 2️⃣4️⃣ of #ShoulderConnections with @cyogalife ➡️ #Gherandasana 🗝⚗️🕺🏻
Have you ever tried rubbing your belly with one hand as you pad on the crown of the head with the other? No matter how many times I’ve done it, I always do it wrong the first few seconds! The fact that both arms are doing completely different actions, can extrapolate to this #backbend. Most people start with the one going overhead, as that’s the most challenging one (or, at least, it is for 99% of practitioners), then fold the other and flip the grip into a Half Bhekasana, finally extending some more the upper arm/leg, as well as pushing lower on the other. If you find little or no length in the spine to ‘lift’, chances are you’ll overuse the upper shoulder in an attempt to pull higher. Don’t. Instead, grab a block/rolled blanket, put it under the low ribs, use the extra height to help the back extend upwards. Avoid an ‘intermediate angle’ where the upper elbow is not pointing forward but slightly out (notice how, when it’s pointing forward, the chest and upper back are immediately called for duty, whereas when it’s opened, pressure goes right into the shoulder itself). I’d also encourage, very much so, the use of a strap, even if you bind, until you can start extending arm & leg towards the ceiling. Push pubic bone into the floor, use the other side of the pose as leverage to press down (like a cane), and lift the torso. Look up, stretch the throat and all along the front of the body, breathe mindfully a few times. Prep with those props and let me know how it goes!! #Practice time, your turn!

A profound experience in looking over the past weeks after coming out...I have a better grip on beauty. Like I would get really uncomfortable when anyone would call me beautiful. Like isn’t that what you call a woman? It helped me realize that toxic masculinity existed within myself. Like there’s a deep disturbance in masculine male culture and why I think so many males are abusive/abused. It’s because they do not get to “enjoy” the full spectrum of emotions in fear that it makes them any less masculine. Like me, I’ll always be a masculine guy but that’s because I also am very in touch with my feminine energy and they come in waves but when you repress energies...disturbance happens and have you ever came in contact with a human that is mentally and emotionally disturbed? They are toxic, they are violent and they are very cynical. It feels so freaking amazing not to be the toxic person in my own life anymore.
Also an amazing friend brought up this term called wounded masculinity and I like it so much better than toxic masculinity because a lot of men are hurt and they don’t even know it and they are hurting other people in the process. Be you and set free. Happy healing. #bisexual#masculine#feminine#weareboth
