This is a picture of me sitting on my inversion table contemplating my life choices such as "why in the Sam Hill did i think doing fast paced burpees was a good idea".
I hurt my upper back really badly tonight about 20 minutes into my cardio sesh. Because of my previous injury I decided to play it on the safe side, stop my workout, and invert for ten minutes or so.
I HATE hanging upside down. It's miserable and not fun and it makes my head hurt but that should give you an idea of how seriously I'm listening to my body so I don't permanently hurt myself again. Working out with a back injury is hard but it allows me to recognize the importance of knowing when to stop something and tonight I exercised that knowledge.
I feel like I let myself down by not completing the workout but I really did try, and simply was unable to do anything properly. I know that's a mental roadblock that I need to change because the entire reason I'm working out is to be healthy and stay healthy and I'd be an ultimate hypocrite if I worked through an injury just to get an extra ten minutes of cardio in.
