Dumbbell fly's are an important part of any chest workout. However, they may irritate your shoulders depending on your mobility. For me, the most pain free method for a fly is to supinate (palm facing up) at the top of the rep and pronate (palm facing down, or towards feet) at the bottom of the rep. I call these "more" flies: 1)because they activate every part of the chest as your hand rotation changes the load angle (supination targets the lower pecs, pronation targets the upper chest because of the elbow angle and shoulder rotation) 2) because my name is in it haha. . The name of the game for fly's is not the amount of weight you can move, but how much range of motion you can accomplish. I prefer to pinch my shoulders back similar to a bench press to really open up the pectorals and anterior deltoids. Im probably WAY prouder of this than I should be. Yea the form fell apart; not thrilled about that. And I’m not even close to satisfied with the weight. Some might even scoff at my excitement. But I struggled for it and it’s mine! Finally started taking bench press seriously two weeks ago and watch my max go from 215 to 245 in less than 14 days. Thanks to @bobby.chanthavong for helping me with my technique and a big one @zacrutherford for the spot! Svært fornøyd med resultatet; 110 kg i knebøy, 52,5 kg i benk og 145 kg i markløft. Training tip: Why am I not wearing shoes? This is important to know when doing an exercise that uses power from your legs. If your feet are making full contact with the platform, then every ounce of force your drive throug the legs will be used to push the weight up. • Exercise like squats, leg press, and deadlifts are when I go barefoot. I could use powerlifting shoes or any kind of shoes that don't have a cushion at the bottom because that absorbs the force you generate and you won't be able to lift as heavy. • I have been told so many times to put my shoes back on from gym instructors who are ill-informed about powerlifting exercises. • The reason is always the same - so that I don't drop a weight on my foot and hurt myself. Well, even if I am wearing my shoes I would still hurt myself equally as bad as if I didn't wear my shoes if I drop something on it. I would have to have a steel toe boot to prevent that. • In fact, the cushion at the bottom of many sports shoes can cause instability and can be bad for your feet. Barefoot is more natural for your body. • I would not do squats, deadlifts, or leg press with heavy weight if I was forced to put my shoes back on because my feet would start to hurt if I did. • So if you want to go heavy on squats, leg press, or deadlift then make sure to go to a gym where the coach is informed about powerlifting. Good morninggg guyysss. Hope you all had an amazing and productive week. This morning I’m sharing a post not normal to the typical buff post, but I felt it was maybe time to switch it uppp. I also decided to use this photo because it provides a genuine smile from me. Genuine because today and everyday I believe it’s a choice you have to wake up and decide how your day will go. Waking up with a good mindset for your day sets the standard for how the rest of your day will go. I woke up this morning happy. Happy because today I GOT TO EAT BREAKFAST (love breakfast yo - no chill here), I get to go home, I get to see my family again, I get to grocery shop (I love grocery shopping it’s a passion. call me a female but it’s fun), I get to cook in a kitchen again, I get to train legs, and this one especially melts my heart I get to see my puppies again. Granted shitty things occur throughout life and throughout your everyday, but if you let that start ruling your life you will live a miserable life. It isn’t a bad day you just decided to be bitter. Recognize the beauty in your norms & stop placing negative energy into things you have no control over. Durchaus ist es die Aufgabe eines Sportlers, seinen Trainingsplan durchzuführen und umzusetzen und natürlich sollte ein Sportler seinem Trainer vertrauen können. . Er muss dies jedoch nicht blind tun. Der Sportler hat nicht nur das Recht, sondern sollte auch gelegentlich Inhalte seines Plans hinterfragen und sich selbst weiterbilden. Man darf sich nicht selbst zu einer ausschließlich ausführenden Person machen. Man sollte keinen Plan machen, der seit Jahren so besteht und für 30-3000 Personen identisch ist - egal ob Mann oder Frau. . Man sollte sich selbst wichtig genug sein, Inhalte verstehen zu wollen. Man sollte einem Trainer seine Planung zumuten, bei dem man immer alles hinterfragen kann und nicht nur eine "Ich denke mir schon was dabei." Antwort bekommt. . . . . Wow.
