Week 6 - Day 1
1x5 comp. squat @ 8 RPE (275lb)
3x5 @ -5% (260lb)
3x5 pause bench @ 7 RPE (165lb, 170lb, 175lb)
Still playing catch up on workout posts! This was a great session from Tuesday. My right quad has been giving me quite a bit of grief, but other than that training has been great. Thanks to @the_teamcaptain for the liftoff and spot on bench.
And thanks to @xavilus for being an amazing coach and friend as always.
Song of the Day:
Fatal - @xyotkx
Because I was wearing my new YOTK tee. 🤙🏼
Snatch pull + hang power snatch for a PR of 111kg/245 # since I never do this complex. Power or nah
The hang power snatch develops force production during the extension phase after the 2nd pull. This forces the lifter to have an aggressive pull under due to the limited amount of time to get under the bar.
W1D1 260kgs/573lbs single @0. Session was motivated by seeing my Boi at Stanford @deadlift_tree killing his sessions. Got me inspired.

XNSUPPS was a Proud Sponsor of Today’s S.O.S. Lift for Life Event, at @victorygymvhc 💪
Today’s bench press competition was a charity event, established to raise funds and awareness for #SuicidePrevention, for both civilians and especially for veterans. This event was established with the intent to show anyone who may be struggling with suicidal thoughts, that there are people out there to talk to. There are people out there who care. If you know anyone struggling with these issues, especially military members, veterans, or first responders, REACH OUT. You could save a life.
🙏 Thank you very much to @scottbrusch30, Carlos, Mike Trout & Victory Gym for having us! What an awesome event, with such a great turnout.
🙌 And thank you so much to @thomasschnepp from @mericalabz and @matt_steffani_redcon1 from @redcon1 for coming out and joining the team! You both killed it! 💪
Great job to everyone who lifted today, and thank you so much to everyone who came out to show support for such a great cause!
Thank you to everyone who attended the event today! @xnsupps was proud to be a part!
Training tip: Why am I not wearing shoes? This is important to know when doing an exercise that uses power from your legs. If your feet are making full contact with the platform, then every ounce of force your drive throug the legs will be used to push the weight up.
Exercise like squats, leg press, and deadlifts are when I go barefoot. I could use powerlifting shoes or any kind of shoes that don't have a cushion at the bottom because that absorbs the force you generate and you won't be able to lift as heavy.
I have been told so many times to put my shoes back on from gym instructors who are ill-informed about powerlifting exercises.
The reason is always the same - so that I don't drop a weight on my foot and hurt myself. Well, even if I am wearing my shoes I would still hurt myself equally as bad as if I didn't wear my shoes if I drop something on it. I would have to have a steel toe boot to prevent that.
In fact, the cushion at the bottom of many sports shoes can cause instability and can be bad for your feet. Barefoot is more natural for your body.
I would not do squats, deadlifts, or leg press with heavy weight if I was forced to put my shoes back on because my feet would start to hurt if I did.
So if you want to go heavy on squats, leg press, or deadlift then make sure to go to a gym where the coach is informed about powerlifting. Because 90% of commercial gyms don't have your best interest in mind, believe me on that.
Train hard, train smart, eat smart.
Good morninggg guyysss. Hope you all had an amazing and productive week. This morning I’m sharing a post not normal to the typical buff post, but I felt it was maybe time to switch it uppp. I also decided to use this photo because it provides a genuine smile from me. Genuine because today and everyday I believe it’s a choice you have to wake up and decide how your day will go. Waking up with a good mindset for your day sets the standard for how the rest of your day will go. I woke up this morning happy. Happy because today I GOT TO EAT BREAKFAST (love breakfast yo - no chill here), I get to go home, I get to see my family again, I get to grocery shop (I love grocery shopping it’s a passion. call me a female but it’s fun), I get to cook in a kitchen again, I get to train legs, and this one especially melts my heart I get to see my puppies again. Granted shitty things occur throughout life and throughout your everyday, but if you let that start ruling your life you will live a miserable life. It isn’t a bad day you just decided to be bitter. Recognize the beauty in your norms & stop placing negative energy into things you have no control over. If you get to choose your mindset, I hope you always choose the one that picks to see the good in life. much love , have a good day everyone. I hope something amazing happens to you today 💗
