5 years ago I was laid off at my dental hygiene job...
Stressed about paying bills and supporting my daughter as I was a single Mom at the time... I felt there had to be more to life than this
I kept seeing a course on line about becoming a Holistic Health Coach
So I did what any laid off person lacking finances would do... I signed up for it
It was quite possibly the second best thing that has ever happened for me
They taught us that our 4 primary foods in life are #exercise#Career#spirituality and #relationships
If you could find “balance” in those 4 areas then you should be able to #thrive •
I believe that it’s more about finding the sense of feeling complete, centred, whole or even growth in those 4 areas... the teeter-totter seems to always be a little heavier in one end then the other in my life!
Either way... when the #oola life style presented itself, I was completely taken
I’ve read the books, have the oils and feel it so totally co-insides with this #holistic way of life
I’m so grateful everyday for this journey... all of it! And when life is happening and it seems unfair, remember it’s happening for you! •

Ben with @bcfitclub is a certified @nasm_fitness trainer. He's got 3 certifications and working on his 4th. Why does this matter? Because he knows how to build up to increasing muscle mass. He could take the short cut and go right to low rep/heavy weight, but instead, we're going to do 4 weeks of stabilization work: high reps/medium weight. This will get all my stabilizers ready for load bearing without the risk of injury when I do go up in weight. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Not gonna lie... Tonight was freaking hard. I was shaking and my muscles burned. I had to take breaks mid-set. I grunted. I stepped down weight when I felt my form slipping due to muscle fatigue. BUT he kept pushing, and I kept lifting and curling and extending. Even when he'd task me with something that earned him a scowl laced with venom, I worked.
If you've been looking for that thing to push you out of your comfort zone, call him. If you don't know for sure what to do at the gym, call him. In addition to personal training, he also does meal plans and a boot camp.

Flex Friday. Honesty time, I don't like flexing in pictures. I think it's silly and a little showy. Plus my arms have never looked super impressive, in my opinion.
Today, I felt powerful and amazing! I feel as if I can conquer anything! I needed to flex for myself to remember how far I have come and show myself the progress I have made.
The current #beachbody program I am doing, #transform20 has helped me grow not only physically, but emotionally.
When I say emotionally, my eyes have been opened to how I should treat myself. Shaun T is an amazing trainer!! He knows what to say to help me be the best version of myself.
With sweat literally dripping off me, he talks to my soul and builds me up on ways I never thought possible, all while challenging my body to push itself harder.
20 minutes, that is all I need in a day to exercise my mind, soul, and body.

I used to read multiple posts about groups and be scared to join. What if I fail? I can't afford whatever their selling. I don't have the time for it.

I thought I couldn't afford a workout program. Yet I wasted money on a gym membership (that I never used), on streaming programs (so I could sit and do nothing), junk food (because I thought it brought me happiness), and a lot of other unimportant things. My health, should be a top spending priority.
I wasted so much time scrolling social media and watching reruns (not just TV but movies too). I didn't WANT to use my time wisely.

I shouldn’t be able to do this. Or so that’s what I spent 27 years believing. But when you’re willing to push yourself, expand your boundaries, and understand that the avenue towards success is ultimately your own decision, you can do whatever the hell you want. I’m ecstatic I’ve developed my core to the point to do this, and @crossfit has only continued to show me how absolutely powerful we can be when the body and mind connect. The late and lonely nights of training on my schedule can drag on, so I spent my time finding something to keep it fun and exciting. This took some months, but I think I’m better on my hands than my feet now! 😅
Whatever it is, just try. You never know until you do.
