Made this quick jig to square up the top of the crown molding on the table saw. The top was held down about 1/4" from the ceiling because of the back hitting first. Worked pretty well but I'm gonna buy a featherboard soon to help with cuts such as these. If anyone has a favorite let me know
Cut a back bevel on miter joints that are open in front but touching at the back (a compound miter cut). To create a back-beveled cut on a standard miter saw, place a pencil under the molding. If you have a compound miter cut box, tilt the blade a degree or two to cut the back bevel.
I am no designer by any stretch of the imagination... but I do love to see different styles and textures integrated into our projects. The mixture of the straight, clean lines of standing seam metal and the busy but neat appearance of dimensional shingles contrast yet compliment each other. It adds a custom and clean look to any home. •
This is a unique perspective of the roof that most will never see... it’s from the ridge looking down the valley. •
Happy St Patrick’s Day 🌈🍀 I forgot to wear green just like the leprechaun forgot to leave a pot of gold at my house! No gold means working in the shop all day finishing up the benches. Trimming the last one, everything is sanded, next is staining. Happy #shopsunday and I hope the leprechaun left y’all some gold! 🍀 . . .

I feel like I’ve been on vacation or had family in town for a LONG time! I miss building furniture. I may have to take on a project next week. I’m itching to build! I’ll just have to sit and scroll through pics of old builds for the next week, though. Anyone else get this way?
I guess I’ve been to serious looking in the last few post. I’m smiling now because I’m waving my magic rag and ABRACADABRA all the stain is on the benches!! ( I can’t the right emoji to post here...so I’m going with a 🧹 ) I don’t like to stain, in fact I dread it. I oil almost every hardwood I work with and the color is always beautiful....when I’m staining it’s almost always to color match something. That can be difficult sometimes. But, it’s done, I’m out if time and delivery is tomorrow! 😄 . .
I’m going to go grab my 🧹 and cleanup the big mess I’ve made all week!
