Glenn Close delivers a fantastic performance in The Wife 🎬 - Joan and Joe remain complements after nearly 40 years of marriage. Where Joe is casual, Joan is elegant. Where Joe is vain, Joan is self-effacing. And where Joe enjoys his very public role as the great American novelist, Joan pours her considerable intellect, grace, charm and diplomacy into the private role of a great man's wife. As Joe is about to be awarded the Nobel Prize for his acclaimed and prolific body of work, Joan starts to think about the shared compromises, secrets and betrayals. 🎬 #glennclose#thewife#film
It’s nearly time to start the next project, and my mind is again turning towards film. I love the convenience of digital, and there’s no question the images generated by these cameras now are superb. But each time I test 35mm, and particularly 35 mm anamorphic, the images have an emotional quality that works at some primal level that’s difficult for me to define, but I am certain is there. Is it the memory of the films I grew up on? Or is it the softness of the image and the pastel mid -tones? I don’t know but I know something is different about the way we experience the film image.
