Yesterday's classes were tough. Not like a great workout tough...but a struggle for so many reasons.
I was mentally & physically worn from moving, and this forever winter is really kicking my butt and seasonal depression is working hard to take me down. (I was both sad and angry yesterday at the single digits and the negatives yet again). 0 motivation, 0 joy, 0 desire...it was hard not to call in and throw in the towel.
There are times we need rest and it is ok to step back or to call in (to anything!) Yet there are times we need to suck it up and do the things we need to do...the things that are good for us. For me this was one of those times. Cardio is one of my best defenses against depression and my Sunday classes always bring me joy. I made it through and felt a million times better.
Examine your life and what you're doing.
Is it necessary?
Is it important?
Does it bring you joy?
If not...then why the heck are you doing it?

This thing ain't for the faint at heart! Making a dream a reality is not for the weak! Not you though, you are not weak! You are strong! You are capable! You are amazing! YOU can do all things! Look at how far you have come to get here. Look at all the battles you have already won to get this far. Look at you, you aren't even the same person you were in January let alone last year! You are doing this! So don't you even think about giving up now! Do you know how uncomfortable you had to get to get here? Do you remember how many tears we're cried at night to be at this point? How many sleepless nights did you have? Look at all the open doors and windows that you walked through. Every step forward is a step forward! You don't get to quit you are made of more than that. So let's do it! Let's get these goals! Let's make these dreams a reality! One day we will look back and EVERYTHING we had to go through to get here will all be worth it!

Remember New Years Resolutions? Well it’s the middle of Feb, and chances are we have been off track a time or two. Good news is we don’t have to wait until 2020 to restart. We can restart daily, but we have to have to vision and end point identified or else we “might not get there.”

In days like today in Toronto, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the weather and not put in any work. I’m currently going through this phase myself, as I’m now giving my mind a mental break and my body some rest. There’s nothing wrong with taking a break every now and then. Whatever circumstance you’re going through, deal with it as best as you can. At the same time, never lose sight of your goals. When the time is right, get yourself back on track push harder than ever. The ones who are most successful are the ones who keep their eyes on their goals, regardless of any difficulties or circumstances they face. In other words, these are the people who never quit!
