Rain or shine, grip and core/back work is always essential - ocr or not, it’s functional and practical 👌 ...
So with a break in the rain, hammered out as many 1200 m hill repeats and bar circuits as practical - here are just a couple variants (one speed horizontal, the other finger and large hold with controlled pull up). Add some unassisted rope and ring traditions and that’s a solid quick work of about 50 min... 👌💪🏻
Totally stoked on this one - managed a clean race and pulled out a 3rd placing at #spartanraceaz Super...and as promised it didn’t disappoint! ...
An awesome technical and mostly flat (and faaast) course with some mild hills, and as always some cool obstacle gauntlets - it is one of my favs for sure! ...
But imo the cold was one of the crazy factors (I know AZ right?!! 😖🤔), making many obstacles slick, frosty and probably harder than expected - at least for me - was that a thin ice layer on the mud slosh??$). Yes, second obstacle in - vertical cargo - totally slipped on the frosty bars and smashed my face and teeth through my front lip (great pics??). Totally blacked out for about five seconds before I realized my mouth was full of blood - but after a few technical miles figured it would be ok 😝😝 Just really really swollen and painful! Ahh the wonders -
The only rub today was that I learned of my placing a little too late, as I wasn’t able to stay for the award ceremony. BUT I can only say ultra congrats to @cjdrosa and @kevingillotti - badassery at its finest and some of the best athletes out there. Congrats to awesome inspirations and I tip my hat and “virtually” share the podium today with you. Can’t wait till the next - 👌
He is full of joy and over-the-moon about his new 🚜!! Thank you lity @stein2306 💜 for making dreams come true. This week he will officially be 2.5 years old 😳 someone tell me where the times goes!? He is the most loving, happy, helpful little boy I’ve ever met and I thank the universe every single day for blessing me with his presence. It is a pleasure to know Sammy and an absolute privilege to be his mommy. •

Happy to hit it before the deluge ☔️... a simple favorite and fall-back workout, harder in practice than in concept 👌
- 4x repeated, non-stop 1200m hill repeat, tire drag out/return #225, 200m bucket carry #90
- 1/2 mile flat run
- 4x repeated, non-stop 1200m hill repeat, tired drag/return #225, 200m @newf_fitness sandbag run #75
All in all solid 6.5 miles (not counting the sandbag or bucket distance of course), 65ish min of work 🤪😖
... then the sky opened and it rained something insane... whew!
Equip: @newf_fitness@gripsling 👌
Edit:... @deyanina had 30 min more, so I went and banged out another tabata. Cause I ain’t no bitch. Recovering from chest colds with this congestive heart failure sucks. I was kicking ass and feeling great..boom knocked down again. So it’s back to the starting line. I managed to do 5 sets of 30 on 30 off tabata boxing. Then 4 sets of 1 min on 30 seconds off. I felt like I climbed a mountain. It is what it is, grind till I die or succeed. I’m trying to get as much training in at Bjj as possible. I went to grab my @mrjiujitsupage mat savage shirt. I’m like dam do I even deserve to wear this today. But many steps make a mile. The only advice I can give is this. Just get some work done. I’m gonna try to go recover now. #carlosmachado#rcjmachado#jiujitsu#mrjiujitsu#congestiveheartfailure#dontdie#dosomework
Soo... not only is this a day late... but it's a week and a day late. Truth be told I was on a business trip last week... I packed workout gear... just didn't use it, except to look at and take up space. Good news in all the unhealthy choices I made with food, fitness, and fdrinks, or the three F's... I didn't gain as much weight as I thought. It was a set back and I'm not proud of that... but that's what transparency is all about. #fitness#transparency#thefatbroccoli#nokia#healthmate#baddecisions#dosomework#workout#getoffyourass#getfit
One of my fav #tbt pics... #spartanracebigbear2018 on day 2, beast 2...the last obstacle after way too many miles of gain (if you were there you know what I mean). For me it was about all I could do to stay focused and not fall on a fairly simple final rig, as I was a solid AG first place and I just pulled about 5 seconds ahead for 3rd overall. When I smacked the last bell, the blur came sharply back as I “ran” to the finish. I think I was happier it was done than with a solid placing (I actually wasn’t sure about any of that cuz the Sprint top guys were finishing about the same time). A good day I would say... #dosomethingepic#iamblessed#dosomework#ocr#socalspartan#thursdaymotivation#throwbackthursday#nomeatathlete
