No trainer session today, so I opted for an outside run to make up for some of the mileage I was short on this week. 4miles in the bank. Kept it at an easy pace. It's cold out, but I run hot, which means I need a nap cause my body spent the whole run trying not to freeze from sweating and keep from overheating all at the same time. Back to indoors tomorrow morning! Happy Sunday, good peoples. Make it a great one!

This was exactly 12 months ago when I learned my zen in running. Running feels natural to me and I’m grateful to reflect that I’m still into the sport.

Straight out of the trisuit and in to a pair of running shorts.. and that just about sums up how Anglian Water standard duathlon went today.
Both runs were pretty much spot on with managing my effort (thank god for that I was worried after Ashridge I’d forgotten how to run) but I completely lost my head on the second half of the bike. The loss in focus cost me a huge amount of time that I can’t afford to give away on an already slow pair of cycling legs 🤦🏼♀️
2nd in my age group 🥈 (there may have only been three of us but i fought hard for that 2nd after heading on to the final run with the girl who finished in 3rd ahead of me) More lessons learned and working towards the day I get the balance between the run and bike right 👊🏼

Morning ab checks, one cheat meal a week that was nearly a weeks worth of calories, spitting out food because it didn’t fit into my “diet”...I drove myself and everyone around me near crazy.
I was focusing my worth on my body image, pant sizes and the number on the scale. No matter how lean I got, I was still striving for more, stressed to lose the results I’d gotten. Then I realized what was missing::the emotional health and relationship with God. I had so much work to do on the inside so I was able to love myself on the outside and stop body shaming.
That’s why I created my Spring into Happy Program that focuses on being healthy from the inside out-bikini bods are great, and I’ll surely help you get there, but what’s greater is having self love regardless of your weight or “ability to” wear a 2 piece.
I can’t say enough how important it is for you to take care of yourself emotionally before anything else.
We can add all the workouts, meal plans, physical changes etc., but if we aren’t working through our STUFF from our past that we haven’t even touched, we will never be truly healthy.
We need that foundation just as the seeds to grow fruit needed rich soil.
You can find that and grow in that way through seeking God.
It’s not always easy, but having the support makes all the difference.

On paper this is a decent result and a decent start to the duathlon season but in truth not really the race I had hoped for. My run has been so strong over the recent months that I would have hoped to do better. No excuses, just wasn’t feeling it today. Some positives - good transitions and felt strong in the bike. I’ll take 4th in a very competitive AG which should see me get the nod for the ITU worlds in 2020. Fantastic debut by @elinoreast to take 3rd in our AG. Great event by @nicetrievents - wonderful marshalls and great organisation. Thanks to coach @barronmendelssohn and chef @performance.chef for getting me there. First race of the season and 3rd in my age group 🥉lots of positives today including my first go at flying mounts and dismounts - I actually didn't land on my bum which was good 😂 definately made my transitions faster. Super pleased with my bike - fastest in my age group 💪🚴♀️ love that bit - can I just slack off the running 😂 and I think it was a good enough time to qualify for the 2020 world's too 🤞🇬🇧
