Took an unexpected rest day yesterday due to a sick bday girl, lack of sleep and extra cuddling. All good as that is mom life at its finest👌
This workout consisted of one too many interruptions. Not only wiping children and breaking up stupid fights 🙄 but my app kept freezing again. Does this happen to anyone else with Peleton? Might prevent me from subscribing monthly. Nonetheless I perservered and kept on going since consistency is key even with tiny bumps along the way. But seriously, I just want to run outside where there will be no interruptions or tiny humans to bug me. Am I right? ..

New episode out today featuring our final interview from the 2018 Spartan Podfest that took place at the 2018 @spartan World Championships at the Squaw Valley Resort in Lake Tahoe last September. This interview features world-renowned endurance athlete and current @worldocr President @ian.a.adamson. A little background on Ian - he started his athletic career as a young age group cyclist in 1973. From 1996 to 2006 he accumulated 10 world championship wins, 22 world championship podium finishes and Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the ESPN X-Games. He is a three-time Guinness world record holder for endurance kayaking and has competed internationally in adventure racing, triathlon, canoeing, kayaking, orienteering and sailing. He was also a founder of Team Nike, the world's most successful adventure racing team, and was featured on the Eco-Challenge and other television shows from 1995 through 2007. And Ian continues to participate in obstacle course racing and endurance sports as an age group athlete – something we talk about in our interview.
The primary focus of our conversation is his work with World OCR and how this and other sport federations benefit athletes of all levels – from the weekend warrior to the elite competitor. Plus, Ian drops some tidbits on the benefits of keeping an active lifestyle as you age – something he knows a bit about as a former competitor and lifetime athlete.

This was the tale of two runs. I felt great until about mile 4.5. Then, my energy tanked. Bad timing as I had nothing but hills until I made it home. Probably should’ve had that gel I brought with me at mile 3. Or maybe I shouldn’t have gone out as fast as I did given the run I had yesterday. But, it was 64F when I started. How could I resist going a decent pace?
On an unrelated note, I’m super excited to explore brand new running routes in CT and NYC. I’m already signed up for a bunch of races in April and May. So, Constitution State, watch out!
IT’S MY BURFDAY🤗🤗
I have never been one to get upset at turning another year older so it’s no surprise that I’m so excited about it today.
But I do have to say, it’s probably due to the fact that I have taken charge of my health and fitness.
I can understand how someone would be upset turning another year older if they never felt good or if their bodies were broken down from years of neglect and poor care.
I started working out 5-6 times a week (lifting weights, doing HIIT, and yes, even some cardio), managing my nutritional intake (eating enough protein, taking Opt-Greens and Micro Factor for my micronutrient and gut health needs), making sure I’m eating enough of the right kinds of foods(as well as Full Mega for my Omega 3s), increasing my water intake, getting enough rest(thanks to Core-21), etc...
I’m older but I feel so much more alive than I did years ago.
Here’s to another 44!
