I’ve been receiving a lot of DMs asking me how I regulated my monthly cycle after dealing with irregularity and amenorrhea the past 12 years.
As I mentioned several posts back (the one with the bar graph) my menstrual cycle started to become regular (and also more recently became in sync with the moon cycle) about one year into my journey to heal my neurological issues. Many of the lifestyle changes, foods, herbs, and supplements I incorporate for these issues also support the reproductive system. I’m going to share what has helped me, as well as some additional info from @medicalmedium for those who are trying to improve any problems with their menses.
But first, what causes irregular cycles?
🔴 The first common reason is due to a chronic infection of EBV in the uterus and ovaries. EBV goes through 4 stages, and in the second phase of Stage Two EBV, the virus can enter the reproductive organs. Whether it’s to the point of causing uterine fibroids or ovarian cysts yet or not, the virus’s presence can disrupt the normal function of the reproductive system.
🔴 Adrenal dysfunction caused by EBV is another possible explanation if you experience inconsistent menstrual cycles.
🔴 Also, a diet too high in protein, fat, dairy, and eggs can cause menstruation issues.
Some tips to heal these issues:
✅ Avoid foods that fuel the virus (dairy, eggs, gluten, canola oil, MSG, refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, conventional GMO soy and corn)
✅ Reduce intake of animal foods by 50% or avoid them completely, especially if you are dealing with infertility (discussed in Life Changing Foods book). These foods are highly adrenalized due to the animals’ high stress at the time of slaughter or capture. Some women are more susceptible to adrenaline’s negative effects.
✅ Take care of your adrenal glands by grazing (check out MM’s adrenal snacks) and reducing stress (or at least controlling how you react to stress.)
✅ Avoid or reduce exposure to environmental toxins (such as those I recently posted about) which “feed” the pathogens in the body and can be endocrine disrupters. This also includes oral contraceptives.

I was tired of seeing people sick of being tired, struggling to get out of bed every morning, struggling to make it through their day. I was tired of seeing so many people struggling with digestive and metabolic issues, especially in the fitness industry including myself. Being a physical therapist I saw first hand how many people live with inflammation and chronic aches on a daily basis. I was tired of seeing people spend so much money on vitamins and supplements that used low quality ingredients and never gave the results they wanted. I was tired of seeing so many people not living the life they deserved. I was introduced to a solution that not only changed my life but also improved the life and health of so many others. If you’re sick and tired of just trying to survive each day, please do yourself a favor and call in and listen to my story. YOU deserve to be the best version of you!

This tree is BURSTING with oranges—can you believe that all of these would have rotted on the ground if it wasn't for the marvelous volunteers at La Reina High School? They helped us collect over 1,400 pounds of oranges in Fillmore, all of which made it into the hands of people served by Santa Clara Valley Neighborhood for Learning. 🍊 💛
