Pledging to do more things that bring me joy this year, and @soulcycle is one of those things 💛 I’ve had a very winding journey with spin (pun intended) 😬 I’ve been “spinning” at various studios for the past 3 years. And can honestly tell you the first dozen times on the bike, I wasn’t convinced it was for me. And TBH you may be saying the same thing, and it may *not* actually be for you... But dammit if I didn’t get back on the bike and keep trying I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today. And where I am today is something I’m really freaking proud of because I earned everything I am today. SoulCycle hasn’t just become a safe space to zone the world out and get my sweat on. But it’s become a place where I mentally deal with the emotional weight that I carry. Where I can celebrate exceeding my fitness goals, or simply be grateful for a body that got out of bed and made it to class. No matter the motivation, I’m challenged to do my best and those kind of places to me are sacred. So my hope is you’ll lean into what places make you feel safe, and where you can be the best version of you. This post is not going to be my standard health, fitness, supplementation post. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The world and life tend to pull us in every direction, a constant fight for our time and attention. Your family needs you, your work needs you, your friends need you, you need to focus on yourself and make progress so that you can excel in the aforementioned areas.
But the question is, WHAT DO YOU WANT? Emphasis on YOU.
There comes a point in time when you need to stop for a moment, ask yourself this question and immediately take action toward that end.
Mr. Rogers called this life we are living now "bombardment". We are being attacked from every angle from so many things demanding our attention. When it is all said and done, we tend to let ourselves be the last point of focus.
There's another saying that @seanwhalen says all the time and that is " The King eats first". This saying simply means, if you don't take care of you, you can't take care of anyone else. How true, yet how far from what most of us do.
In my opinion, there are seasons in our lives where we will be called to devote a little extra here, or a little extra there but what it comes down to is that YOU need to take care of YOU above all else. Selfish as that may seem, you're no good to those you want to help if you aren't around. Or if you are ill. Or bedridden, etc.
This isn't a post to say, " screw everyone I am going to be selfish" but more of a reminder to take some time for yourself once in a while. This looks different for everyone and that’s ok, just do it!
You are the only person that will ever be able to help you. In order to help others, you need to be capable of it. Take the time and prioritize all those things pulling you in every other direction. Most of them can be put on the back burner.

Never really thought these two things would happen.
225lbs x 1 conventional Deadlift (wasn’t possible last week)
135lbs x 4 pause (not the prettiest but it happened)
In this past year this wasn’t possible. Both of these weights were just goals that I rly didn’t seam foreseeable.
I really am so grateful to @adamdpeeler and @qwin_vitale . I know I keep saying this, but I wouldn’t have gotten here without their guidance and training.
My personal weight might not be where I want it to be, but gosh darn it, I am feeling so good about myself right now lol
