Fresh faced for the gym!
My progress at the gym has not been that visual. I can see it and my partner can see it but only just. I haven’t had any weight loss but my body fat % to lean mass is starting to shift but I won’t check again until half way through the program and again after. The weights I’m lifting are always increasing and I’m sticking to my routine without fail.
The biggest change is in the way I feel. Just walking around or going up the stairs I can feel the strength in my legs, the stability and ease of movement. I feel harder in my arms, legs, back and I feel my shoulders starting to be pulled back into place.
The difference since I started @mindpumpmedia Maps Anabolic program is amazing and I can’t wait to get through the rest of the phases.

Before this I was doing weightlifting classes and having a go myself in the gym but having a structured phased program is E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.
At this point I’m in a waiting game for my prepaid gym membership to finish so I can find a better gym that’s less class/cardio focused and find a place with better equipment!
The next thing is my nutrition, it’s always up and down. I know it will make the biggest difference in tandem with the lifting and I won’t see the gains or losses I’m trying to work towards otherwise.
I’ll be finished the program this time in April and hopefully I’ll have my nutrition on track by then for a cardio cut before I cycle back into the program for a second time! 💪
What do you do for warm up? Do you consider it an important part of your training? It is..! I normally use the RAMP method, in this movie you will se the M part, thats Mobilizing (mobilizing the joints and your back)

But let’s discuss number one! It’s impossible to focus on accomplishing anything else when YOU’RE not good! Part of your wellness journey has to be more than workouts and diet. To name a few major players - mental, emotional, spiritual, and financial health are huge factors in well-being. And when one, or several of those, are out of line it can definitely prevent you from showing up as your best self. •
This next statement is NOT rude: You don’t owe anyone your time, money, effort, excuses, or any resource. That’s not to say that you can’t, won’t, or shouldn’t give those - just make sure you’re in a place where you’re okay to do so! And if you’re not, it’s okay to say no. Help yourself and others by doing the self work to get to a place where you can eventually say yes. •
There have been sooo many times when I’ve felt guilty for not being able to do more, show up more, give more, etc. But I had to realize part of the reason why I fell short and wasn’t able to was because I wasn’t where I needed to be. It was a hard pill to swallow, and I’m still a work in progress, but where I used to fall short I’m doing better because I’m learning (how) to take care of me. •
So work on getting yourself there, wherever your “there” is! It’s a journey, and can feel never ending, but the payout is so worth it. Let’s talk about it. Thoughts? Aside from workouts/dieting, how are you doing the work to become the best version of you? 💛

I think next week I’m going to talk about the mindset part of the reverse diet because tbh it has been interesting for me. I’m doing a little photoshoot with the wonderful @jrr_imagery today and I almost thought about canceling because my body isn’t looking as lean as it usually does. Its a combo of generally eating more, consuming more carbs which is making me store more water, and being on my period. Oh, and yesterday my skin was freaking out to the point where my eyes were a little swollen and I’m now covered in scratch marks 🙄 Honestly, not the ideal combo for a photoshoot 😂 But I decided not to cancel and go do it anyway. Why? Because I realized that if I wait for the perfect moment where I think I look “my best” I could be waiting forever. There’s always going to be something I could tweak or change. Something I won’t be entirely satisfied with. I think this photoshoot will help me embrace the changes I am making to my body and to be confident and comfortable in my skin even if I’m a little fluffier than usual and my actual skin is trying to murder me by being so itchy that I scratch myself so hard I start to bleed out 😂 Wish me luck 😝

Why as women do some of us think we aren’t just as beautiful with post shower hair, no makeup in our housecoat? I’m bad for this. I get out of the shower look in the mirror & think I look ugly or gross. Working at your self love is an everyday process, not everyday are you going to love yourself & the way you look. I’m working on trying not to have these negative thoughts. I’m working on feeling just as beautiful with no makeup, wet hair & in a robe as I do when I’m in full makeup & a cute outfit. Reminding myself too that the right person will think you’re beautiful all the time, the right person will remind you how special you are even on the days you don’t believe them.
