Thank God I had another 15ish weeks till my half ironman...this picture is me every single time I get in a pool. If it's not my breathing then it's my shoulder acting up. I'm going to need till the very last day to get comfortable enough for this swim.
On another note, got an appt for physical therapy tomorrow so I'm hoping to finally get a handle on whatever is happening with my shoulder...wish me luck!

One of the things I'm conscious of when training for a big event like a half Ironman is injury prevention.
Last Friday I spent a bit of time going up and down a massive flight of stairs at the beach. My legs have suffered since then. My calves have been quite painful and were definitely worked beyond belief. Today I was meant to run for two hours. I was really looking forward to that run.
Unfortunately with under seven weeks to go until Port Macquarie half Ironman, I just can't risk any injury. So, today, @lukeruns_100kmaweek_in2019@cooperrileygibson and I went on a bit of a walk instead. We managed just under 6ks and 75 minutes so a nice improvisation. After we came home I did some strength exercises that didn't include any leg work! 😏
Evening trainer rides watching the sleeping kiddos on the monitor. I bet someday I'll miss these days.

Foram 3 meses de treino de corrida, 2 meses de treino de bike e uns 10 treinos de natacao 😱😱 mas na hora da prova lembrei dos 22 meio irons e dos 7 irons que ja fiz e fui!!! E deu bom! Achei que nao conseguiria fazer abaixo de 6 horas, fiz 5h39, fiquei em 7 na minha categoria que tinham 39 mulheres e de brinde peguei a vaga!!!!! Minha irma @lucaglaser tbm esta com a vaga!!!!! At the end of the day, it comes down to 👉🏼 are you willing to put in all the hard work? The sacrifices? The behind the scenes dirty work just to reach the top of the mountain? ⛰
Building a business of my dreams while teaching special education full time, in charge of 4 extra curricular activities at school, training for a #halfironman , getting ready to move, maintaining a social life, and yes still sleeping • isn’t always easy but seeing my dreams come true makes the hard work, the late nights + early mornings ☀️⏰, the coaching instead of netflixing (that’s a verb right?) worth it 🦄 -

Didn’t post over the weekend - I know that was one of my goals but honestly I just didn’t feel I needed to. I had a busy weekend training and socialising. It was just nice.
Today we’re back on it though. Training pull with @hanajanexxx and changing it up a little bit. I was debating a 🚴🏼♀️ or brick tonight but now I don’t need to travel for work tomorrow I’m going to save it for then.
Goals for the week - just one get my screen time DOWN! Last week it went up and it’s because I’ve stopped reading, so I’m picking up another book tonight 📚. I’ll let you know how I get on.
14th overall and 8th in the age group. That’s what good fitness gets you on the hardest course I’ve ever raced. 31.5min non wetsuit swim, 2:17 on the bike coming out of T2 in second place, then a 1:41 half marathon run. That’s probably the best run I could have expected, the hills were crushing and the sun was 28 degrees Celsius with zero cover and no wind. On any other course that could have been a sub 4:30, but I am completely thrilled with a near PB in this beast of a course. Gotta cross some fingers for a roll down to get to worlds. Off to Puerto Rico to feel those race day feels (FYI the “feel” I was experiencing during this pic was “Who out quick drying cement in my legs?!”). I’ve historically got to destination races many days out, but I noticed that when I would do that I’d spend the week eating poorly and getting heavier because I was retaining water from all the salty food I was eating. I also had issues in hot weather races where I’d get sunburnt before the race even started. So this race we’re trying to fly in right close to the race, build the bike, do a small little day of exercise, bash my brains out in the race, head home. Last few big swims before heading off to Puerto Rico 70.3, of I I ended up getting a Tower 26 Mambo Set. The Mambo Set from @tower_26 features a main set where the swims go 70-80-70-90%, the set repeats and each time the set repeats you increase the distance and rest taken after the 80% effort. Today we repeated it enough times that by the end we swam a 600 yard effort at 80%. So glad to have a training partner @davelipchen head coach of @team_windburn for these now, it makes the suffering go by so much quicker! #swim#swimming#fitness#swimbikerun#halfironman#ironmantri@garminfitness
