The race season is finally insight. When two race numbers arrive on the same day 😀 Really looking forward to these two. I used to wing my week and as a mom of 3 that was a train wreck. I plan and yet I still have mom fails but my chances of forgetting something has significantly decreased! Between school drop offs, pick ups, sports and speech therapy...I’m a busy mom!!
I have tried so many ways to organize my life and this planner right here has helped me stay focused and make lists!! I FREAKIN LOVE LISTS!!
This planner also has a place for me to write down three things I’m grateful for which I absolutely love!!
I may not be organized in a lot of things but having a plan for the week has really helped me personally and in my business!!
Track Tuesday- Time Trial for tonight’s Rivers Gift training session. Last year I did a 4km Time Trial at the start of last years campaign (this year was 25min) and I am really impressed with my 40sec improvement (and with an extra 5min too!) But now the hard work begins 💪

Choosing Happiness 💕
Crashing hard into Monday from such a high this weekend wasn’t easy. I felt really low for several reasons.
Additionally, I am heartbroken that I had to withdraw from the @officialbighalf because I’ve injured my back. I’m on anti-inflammatory drugs, will likely need some physiotherapy and in the interim, I am only allowed to walk and do some “gentle” exercise. Doctor’s orders.
That said, happiness is a choice- so I stepped out for fresh air yesterday and picked up an oat milk Chai latte and chose to change my perspective.
It won’t be long until I get to see my family and friends in Los Angeles and Dublin again soon.
I’ll see my man sooner than soon and we’ll soon find the right place for us.
I will take the time to heal but also concentrate on yoga and stretching and something I’ve neglected far too much of for far too long, #splitstraining. If I’m careful, I’ll be able to run sooner and train w/ @laurenwilliams144 for the @royalparkshalf instead- AND hopefully, pick up #poledance again with greater grace and ease.
My point is- the choice is mine. If I manage my #mentalhealth, it doesn’t manage me. I have the power and so do you! 💪🏻 #choosehappiness#mentalhealthawareness#mindbodysoul#freedomformation
Truth Bomb. I haven’t run in about 3 weeks cause life has gotten in the way and I’ve had a nasty cold that just won’t go away. I’m 5 days away from my 3rd half marathon. So today I did a little treadmill therapy. And as soon as I stepped on the treadmill I realized I missed running. Sometimes you need a break but when you start again you realize how much you actually needed it. That’s how many ‘hello’, ‘hi’, ‘morning’s’ I got back on my run this morning.
THREE out of 19 runners I crossed paths with! Three!
Don’t get me wrong it was great to see so many runners out there this morning by the river but really?! Is it that hard to even nod in acknowledgment that someone has said good morning to you....or that we are all out there pounding pavements for whatever crazy reason drives you to run? Or is everyone so in their own headspace they can’t be bothered?
Rant over 🤐.
Been getting very worried about my running recently but made the most of my early waking and did a 6 mile in relatively decent time (for me lol). Left foot was completely numb from about 3k onwards and also fell flat on my face at Bitterne triangle 😂 got up like a trooper and carried on #running#halfmarathontraining#10k
medal monday🏅I always surprise myself by what the mind & body can do every time I do a race. I haven’t been running like I used to, so all the doubt was setting in. I took a different approach to my training with this half marathon, doing more group classes, cycling & some weekend running. feeling a lot of gratitude not only for my body that allows me to do this, but for all the people cheering along the way, the volunteers that helped put this on & the ability to call this place my home🤟🏻
I’ll hear all the time “well, I’m not a runner” but the thing is, no matter how far you run, you’re a runner. just like anything else, if you tell yourself you can do it, then you can👊🏻if you have something on your mind that you want to do whether it’s running a race, pursuing a new job, or starting a new side passion project, just do it. you’ll surprise yourself along the way💥

Trying to find the balance between recovery after a race and not wanting to lose too much fitness is always a challenge. I’m still feeling pretty tired, primarily in the evenings, since ALQ50k. So 3 miles plus light strength training today and planning to take it easy for another week or two. Anybody have any specific rules you follow with regard to recovery duration/method after key races?
Side note: This weather can just stay thank you very much😜🙌😍🙏🤸♂️
