Healing is not linear like this rainbow in front of me. This is what I’ve learn and unlearn over and over again. We all carry emotional baggage and they require courage, understanding, forgiveness and compassion to unpack. I recently watched a really powerful documentary about healing and I highly recommend you to watch it too. It reminded me why I wanted to become a yoga teacher, the power that is given to us to heal, why we must live the best versions of our lives... That heavy feeling following a strenuous time, its been around us lately and with most of my clients, friends and family too. Its so easy to get caught up in 'rushing syndrome', often forgetting how important it is to take a break. •

This is great illustration by @theawkwardyeti, showing how a negative focus mindset can cause someone to dwell on bad circumstances, ignoring other good things that could be going on in life. Being aware of such a response bias is a good first step to reframing this kind of thinking, and allowing oneself to just enjoy the positive can lead to much better mental health. 😊

If my little man can concur his massive daily changes l look at it, well so can l, let alone us all! 😍🏆 Seeing Coops diagnosed with autism and level 3 the highest!
For a lot of peeps that don’t know what that is, Coops is non verbal, low functioning, low muscle tone, needs lots & lots of regulation, super high sensory, developmental delay!
Well this little champ Cooper, that l am proud to call my son, seriously concurs these challenges everyday! More than most of us could even imagine, l look at his challenges daily, let alone ahead in life, and think it’s not easy for him!
BUT he is kicking butt! 🙌💪🏼👍👏
AND HE IS ALWAYS SMILING, even when he is trying to crack it with us l can still get him to SMILE 😀

And with the right specialists/therapists on board with us it’s ‘TEAM COOPER’
So we complain about the little things sometimes but really life is good, and there is always someone else worse off! 💯❤️🤷♀️😌
A while ago I came across the story of a bodybuilder who also happened to be an A&E doctor.
He was saying you shouldn’t consume two apples and a banana a day. Why? This provides 34g of sugar and ‘the NHS website only recommends 30g.’
I’m SO grateful for our healthcare system but.. despite the fact that our medical doctors study for so many years, they’re only provided a few hours worth of nutrition training. And when questioned It’s ‘well that’s what it says on the NHS website.’ NOT: I saw a study that says fruit in excess is bad/a study that says fruit containing sugar is equal to refined sugar/I’ve researched this. INSTEAD: I went to university for the best part of a decade but I have no intention of researching what I talk about; I’ll just go by what the NHS website says.
1. The NHS website meant refined/FREE sugar (it even clearly says it...). This basically means sugar not attached to fibre, such as soft drinks, table sugar, juice and honey/agave. These are high in fructose - which isn’t metabolised as easily as glucose/sucrose and is in fact inflammatory if consumed in high doses. That doesn’t mean that you can’t have 2 tbsp of mango & lime dressing with your MASSIVE 10 veggie SALAD, A SERVING of reduced sugar ketchup on your HIGH FIBRE SWEET POTATO/BLACK BEAN BURGER or a teaspoon of agave with your porridge. A bit of sugar won’t hurt, but don’t go smashing in a caramel latte, a croissant, frosties, a can of coke and ice cream every day.
2. Fruit sugar has a perfect balance of glucose, sucrose and fructose - there is NO evidence that sugar in fruit is harmful for your health, the same way that glucose in porridge isn’t either.. You could search for days and not find a thing. Most disease researchers recommend MORE fruit (plus fruit is at such a large volume per calorie, it’s very difficult to over eat on, therefor great for weight loss WHILST REDUCING inflammation - cause of disease).
3. This guy failed to mention that the eggs and chicken he was promoting on his page for bodybuilding purposes surely outweighs the NHS’ recommended daily CHOLESTEROL/SAT FAT intake. Which are a lot more harmful for your health than refined sugar(continued Below)
Choose compassion over impulse. Pause and think before you react whether you are in a situation with a stranger, friend, animal, acquaintance or family member.

That just happened today! This afternoon my RS president brought me a 2lb bag of lettuce 🥬 yessss people you are paying attention, thank you for that! Today I have been struggling mentally with my pain levels and for me this was a sign that God knows me. I know it was left over from the ward party last night but the thought really counts!
