I spent 45 minutes in the floor today at the gym. Toe sox and all, they can laugh if they want.🤷🏼♂️. The reason I was in the floor? 45 minutes of hip mobility work. If you can’t do a single hip mobile exercise that you see on YouTube maybe some hip work is a good idea.😝. I have been working on this for a few months. Started out I could not even squat. Hips and ankles said nope, that ain’t happening. Today I could almost touch my butt to the floor squatting with my back straight. Also did some Cossack squats (not as pretty as they look on YouTube). If you ever want to find out how flexible your hips and ankles are try cossack squats.😳. What I know for sure is that to be fully alive one must not shy away from pain. It is in the pain of life that the Lord of all heaven and earth meets you. Try this stretch to help alleviate foot pain and stiffness This stretch is highly effective for stretching between the toes and deep in to the muscles of the feet. ************************************Take your left foot in your right hand and thread each finger between each toe. . *See pic #2 *Aim to Move the fingers through the toes as far as they will go; ultimately, the base of your fingers are all the way to the base of the toes - don’t forget to include the little toe! *Hold for 1-2 minutes. Release the fingers and feel the instant relief and space in between your toes.
Do this stretch regularly to reduce arch pain and stiffness.

That’s how I felt about yoga. As a former college athlete, I always felt that if you weren’t covered in sweat and huffing after a workout then it wasn’t doing anything and wasn’t worth my time. So wrong!! .
For the past few days I’ve been getting up before my baby wakes and laying a mat out to start my day with a 30 minute yoga session and it’s been absolutely invigorating! I’m surprised to say I’m actually sore too! It’s been a great way to center, check in with my body, and start the day off on a healthy positive note. I can’t believe it’s already been two months since Whitney and that we’re about to leave on our next big adventure! SO, before we leave – I finally committed to sitting down and knocked out a list of our top 10 items that we decided were either essential or should be ditched and left at home, good for any summit hikes!
