Laurie Abrams, Accountant
Next up is Laurie! Laurie is an accountant from Los Alamos and is currently living in Albuquerque. Her favorite race is Deuces Wild triathlon festival (a local favorite series that includes a weekend of all different distances and types of multi-sport races). Laurie was a professional triathlete from 1995-2000. She’s finished NINE Ironman races! She also holds the title of oldest female finisher at the Alaskaman Extreme Triathlon. Her goal for 2019 is to go back to Alaska and finish a second time in June.
Laurie is an incredible addition to the WattsUp team and we’re so lucky to have her! 💥
Hate logging everything you eat? SAME. That’s why I just use my hands. Seriously. There’s no app, no measuring cups, no obsessing over calories. If you’re not on a strict training diet, you can use your hands (and your thumbs) as a general guide to help gauge how much of what foods you should be eating at every meal. Here’s the basic breakdown, and you can scroll through for visual help (you know, in case you don’t get what “an entire thumb of fat-dense foods” means). And sorry to tell you, it’s different for men and women.
For men at each meal:
1-2 palm-sized portions of protein-dense foods
1-2 entire thumbs of fat-dense foods
1-2 fist-sized portions of vegetables
1-2 cupped handfuls of carb-dense foods
For women at each meal:
1 palm-sized portion of protein-dense foods
1 entire thumb of fat-dense foods
1 fist-sized portion of vegetables
1 cupped handful of carb-dense foods
I never use to be the one to take selfies at the gym or video my workouts. Always thought to myself “be humble” but over the the last year or so I’ve learnt that it’s not about showing off or looking like a knob doing it in front of other people 🤣🤣 but it keeps me accountable for my progress. Now that I see changes it makes me want to push even harder to make my goal a reality 💪🏾. Imma bout to 🔐 did shit ⬇️ Thanks again to the bro Warren from @surgefht#Csup. Also @holliesday for supporting me in my journey. Oh and @rare215breed love the belt doxs. 💯

#cyclingkit#cycling
