Long, tough, choppy, and salty. Swim on, or get carried downstream. One breath at a time. One stroke at a time. The shore gets closer. People on the beach clearer. Finally, touching land is such a relief. And then, repeat it next day.
🇲🇻 DAY 6: @swim.maldives 🇲🇻 * Fathalaama is the name of the Maldivian learn-to-swim and water safety program. We have assisted 35-50+ children and women per stop. * The beautiful resort @amillafushi is employing islanders from several islands and offerered the best possible organic breakfast. Manager & triathlete @mark.maldives then joined us for the choppy swim. * During the break at @fsmaldives we visited the Marine Science Center, displaying global and regional environmental challenges. * The @fsmaldives also runs a Turtle Rehab Center with a rehab for injured and stressed out turtles.
* At the next stop Kudarikilu we had a lecture from @mantatrust together with the school kids of the island on the life and threats of the majestic Manta Ray. We also learned how female mantas puts more time to look good than males.
