You cannot let a fear of failure or a fear of comparison or a fear of judgment stop you from doing the things that will make you great. You cannot succeed without the risk of failure. You cannot have a voice without the risk of criticism. You cannot love without the risk of loss. You must take these risks.

Today’s run was hard. My legs felt heavy and my shoulders were tense the entire 45 min. I feel like I always post about the good workouts but it’s not always good. Sometimes you want to quit 40 minutes into a 45 minute run, what’s 5 more minutes anyway?? Today’s run wasn’t about smashing any goals but rather finishing what I started. When people ask me why I run or what I’m training for my answer is always “life, I’m training for life”. Today’s run was an example of that. I finished that 45 minute run so I can continue to push my kids to be their best and ask nothing from them that I’m not asking from myself. #finishwhatyoustart#juststrongambassador#juststrong#strongnotskinny#runningmama#settheexample
Not as early in the morning this time but probably got almost a two hour sesh done! Worked a lot today, didn't really feel like working out and therefore decided to do twice as much as usual to feel pumped!
Started off with different shoulder stabilizing exercises to activate and work against injuries, then went straight into shoulder HIIT with @lovisaforsman (highlights of the day with this cutie✨✨), and then cooled off with ab-work, arm circles and some seated rows. The last one to open up the chest. Then went for incline intervals for 15min at the treadmill to work up my stamina again, then ended with some last dumbbell chest presses and a looong stretch with foam roller. And a few assisted chin ups, really trying to work on those!!
Do have to tell you that this was a killer?? This potato was cooking.
I recently became a Brand Ambassador for @bejuststrong and I'm excited about this company. Their message is on point and resonates with where I am right now. Strong women who support each other. Let's continue to build each other up. Whether you're an experienced lifter and/or gym rat or struggle to convince yourself to workout like me, keep it positive and keep on working it.

I ran 4 on the treadmill today and it felt pretty easy. My #garmin indicates I was in zone 3 for most of my run. I’m thinking I need to focus more on being at zone 2 for easy running tomorrow as I do my long run, but I’m open for suggestions if staying at zone 3 makes sense (swipe for my stats). I really have never focused much on my heart rate while running but just noticed this from today based on my perceived exertion. Honestly, it didn’t feel like a difficult run at all. Boring maybe (‘dread’mill), but not strenuous. Unfortunately I’m feeling as though a cold is coming on so I’ll be hitting the treadmill tomorrow morning for my long run.

After running, I stretched, then did the following:
✅ Push ups (30x2, 20x1)
✅ Russian twist crunches w/KB (15 lbs) (15x2, ea side)
✅ Hydrated with @nuunhydration grape
Felt great, and while I’m not thrilled about the treadmill again tomorrow, I know it’s the best for me if I want to stay healthy during this training cycle. Hope you all stay healthy while training! Happy running!
I let myself go this week.
Like I started Monday off like-
“Who is ready to slay this week like a queen!? Meeeee!”
And then anxiety snuck in like a little 🐝 and wreaked havoc on my fitness goals.
It honestly always catches me off guard.
I go from high happy vibes to just the lowest of lows without a full understanding of how I’d get there. This time I realized that 2 years of this journey and almost 100 lbs down, I still have not conquered my ED with binge eating and emotional eating. ⠀⠀
It’s a MF struggle when it happens. But the way I see it is this.
I could just say F it and throw in the towel and just keep eating because somedays when I’m sad it feels like I’m a bottomless pit and there is no end to the madness.
Take a second. Stop feeling sorry for myself. Practice a little self-care. And set up a friend date to do a workout class on the weekend!
I know sometimes shit hits the fan and for me it seems to be when I am doing VERY WELL. Right? But I promise you are NEVER to far gone to pick right back up and keep going.

The gym is my anti-depressant, my therapy, my ME time, my self-love, my confidence...
Honestly the list could go on!
• It cheers me up when I’m feeling low, thank you endorphins 🙏
• It gives me something to concentrate on when I’m stressed and give me the headspace to think
• It’s a distraction to the every day stressors in life
• It makes me feel better about my self
• It gives me purpose and routine
• It introduces me to new and wonderful people
• It makes me fit and healthy and protects my mind and body
• It has opened up a world of opportunities and pushed me out of my comfort zone
When people ask me why I enjoy going to the gym THIS is why! It’s not just a monotonous slog on the treadmill for me it’s definitely so much more 💛 -

I've always said that I would never go on a meal plan, weight my food, or count anything. Well last week I gave into Ranson and had him write me a meal plan just to see what the results would be. Plus I am hoping it will help get my training back on track. I have to admit I love it, it's so easy and I stay full all day. Guess I'll have to admit he was right again.

High visibility for the dark early morning workouts 😎
I often get asked how I manage to work out early in the morning. Trust me, several people can vouch that I NEVER used to be an early bird. You wouldn’t catch me in the gym before midday, no way 🙅🏼♀️ But working full times means I have to fit it into my day, so it’s either before work...or after 🤷🏼♀️ Evening workouts aren’t really an option, i’m not prepared to wait to use the equipment when its busy AND ITS ALWAYS BUSY ( timed rest periods and all that!) and to be quite honest I’m usually pretty drained come 5pm. So early mornings it is! They really do set me up for the day, they give me a little burst of energy and generally just get my head in gear.
Either way my advice would be to treat your workout as an extension of your working day. Make it a part of your daily routine rather than just an addition that can rearranged if you just ‘don’t feel like it’. Most unfortunate people wouldn’t cancel work because they don’t feel like it today (I wish 😩) so don’t do it to your workouts too 💪
I have often spoken about rest time for physical recovery but downtime is also essential for our psychological wellbeing.
Being on the go, proactive, constructive and moving forwards is all well and good however it is equally essential to stop, hold still, check in with ourselves and readjust.
Time to ourselves without pressure is when creativity happens and allows us to get an insight into our deeper selves, our true desires and where we really want to go 🖤
