How to spend a perfect Saturday morning. Got wake up before sunrise by her to look at it. Accomplish so much already before 7am. She is cooking breakfast while I am writing in my journals. Taking time to make the best out of this day. Tea, Coffee, Meditation and Love ❤️🖤
There’s a massive misconception out there that to be a success you should only focus on your strengths and outsource your weaknesses. Or only do shit that you like doing, and stop doing stuff you hate doing and that this leads to happiness.
I haven’t seen this.
What I’ve experienced and believe is that if you want to be a strong, responsible and reliable person or entrepreneur, you need to do the things you don’t like doing, and you need to work on your weaknesses.
1. Outsourcing isn’t always an option. It might be an option if you have taken over an already established successful business. Or if you’re funded from your own wealth or someone else’s. But typically you’ll need to roll up your sleeves and get it done.
2. Typically the stuff we don’t like doing is the stuff we’re bad at. I hate accounting. I’m bad at it. But what if I didn’t do it? What if I never learned it. I would continue to be in the dark about the numbers. And continue to rely on what others tell me vs having actual insight.
3. Accomplishment is what makes people happy. And the feeling of accomplishment only happens when you do stuff that is hard. When you tackle a challenge that was difficult. This is growth. It’s why we love games, and sport. If these were easy we wouldn’t do them or feel good about them.
So do shit you hate. Focus on your strengths and weaknesses and do it with a smile on your face because guess what, you’re getting stronger, better and more accomplished!
Today, I give myself permission.
Permission to cry.
Permission to feel bad.
Permission to feel tired.
Permission to feel like I can’t carry on.
Permission to nurse my bruised ego for a bit.
Permission to lie in bed a bit longer.
Permission to retreat for a while.
Permission to feel.
Because I know this: once the tears are spent, and the tiredness has eased, and the pain has subsided, and the shame is gone, I can press ‘RESET’. Press ‘reset’.
And this is such a blessing. The ability Allah has given us to CHOOSE.
So, today, I choose the press ‘reset’ and rise again.
