Beers & cheers for getting to the end of the Mediterranean Epic rollercoaster stage race 👐👐🍻 Stage 4 was just as steep & savage as I remembered & it was another stage to be happy with. I lost contact with the group of 3 ahead after an untimely puncture on the final descent but it was fixed with a gas can so I didn't lose too much time & finished 6th... And I have to say I'm chuffed to pieces for pulling out 2 good stages after the hoo haa of the first 2 days.
Stats for the 4 days: just under 14 hours of racing, about 6400m of climbing, something like 240km over some gnarly, techy, loose, savage & rewarding terrain.
Huge kudos to my support @ejwhyte11 who made it to every feed zone in time, didn't miss a single bottle hand up, has been incredibly positive and upbeat when things seemed to be going very wrong, who happily ate the same meal every night (I like routine 🤪), did all the driving & has just been great fun & a blast. How on earth did I race this last year without support ?! It's been an absolute blast & a brilliant training block for sure.
I've never felt so grateful to have the Genesis Mantle to ride having been parted from it for 2 stages... Thank you so much @email@example.com... I love that bike! So capable & it felt so fast... Also due to the handy mechanics of @carlbikelove 👐👐 Huge thank you also to my sponsors @lochduartsalmon who's support gets me on start lines of races like these. I wouldn't be posting my racing escapades if I didn't have their support 👐 what a team 😊
