Today I bring you my first ever race. This 100m is an important part of my story. As soon as the gun went off and I came out of the blocks for the first time in a race, I was hooked on the sport.👟
Although my time was FAR from amazing, I still managed to win the slow heat easily.🤣

After facing immense disappointment at the conclusion of my senior season in high-school, and deciding not to go to college.
Global Peak was born.🌀
I hope to compete again one day, somewhere. But more importantly I want to create a community that empowers people to always put their best foot forward, and have a positive impact on the lives of others. That is my dream.

Winner!!!! 🎉🎊❤️❤️ @mcoop93 I LOVE the Route 66 marathon! It is my favorite race by a long shot! I’ve run it every year since I first started running in 2014. The course includes some challenging hills (which I love), beautiful neighborhoods, foliage, and crowd support. I start line includes confetti!! I mean... do I need to go on??? A little late on the wife takeover today!! I managed 8kms on Thursday 🙌🙌 but.... I had to stop twice for a few seconds because I had the worst stitch!!! I don’t know if this is because I probably have a terrible breathing technique, and or from eating lunch late/ then running?? Either way I’m hoping to get out again this arvo for another one and will see how I go 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
#fbf to our mini-moon in the Bay Area and a photo from our run in @pointreyesnps which was of the most memorable runs that @the4bz and I have shared. Valentine’s Day marked 6 1/2 months that we have been married and even though yesterday was crazy busy and our 3 miles in 27:07 around our neighborhood wasn’t a run to and along the Pacific Ocean, every moment with this beautiful woman at my side is memorable. So happy to be in love with my best friend and know that we have a lifetime of amazing memories yet to make together! I love you baby!

Today for the first time this week I got out for a run. I'm not going to lie, I feel like this week has been a bit of a write off. We got quite a lot of snow for Victoria and many roads were unsafe to drive on Monday and Tuesday. As for running, it was not safe to be outside and I was dealing with a few other things, so wasn't able to make it to the gym. Usually, we don't get snow in Victoria. This is the most snow I've seen since I moved here 10 years ago. *
However, I'm not going to spend any time beating myself up over the lack of workouts this week. I'm not giving up on my fitness goals and I believe that this forced rest week was good for me. I feel fresh, recovered and ready to keep working hard on my big goals! *

🕺❤️🎉🙏🏻🎵😛 One question I’m asked often is “When will you do your first Marathon?”. The answer is easy “When I’m ready!”! After my first Half, I thought to myself “Hell NO, I’m NEVER doing a Full”.. but, the idea is (finally) creeping into my mind. TBH, I want to get a better grasp of the Half, and, I feel that I still have improvements to make with my training.
When I do enter my first Full, I want to make sure I’m mentally & physically prepared for the challenge AND, equally important, the time commitment.
On that note, in addition to the @mississaugamarathon Half, I’m excited to announce that I’ll also be racing the @chillyhalf & @ottawamarathon Half!
This is all I’ve signed up for....so far, but, that’s bound to change! 😉

True but not so true.
I side to be such a huge believer in sleeping less and working more but truth of the matter is, that shi* ain’t necessarily true. The less you sleep every single day, the faster you will buy that #wall .
Trust me guys, if you feel like shi* you will most likely not be as productive and as focused as other days. You are better off resting and recovering to go 100% the following day.
Work, business, gym, whatever. You WILL be better off resting. If you don’t do things that way, I dare you to try it for one week.
What do you guys normally do? Grind it out or recover?

Friday EZ miles done and getting ready for tomorrow’s long run.
I’m out of the woods with my injury 🤞🏼so now I’m back to building up my mileage. I have 12 miles on deck tomorrow which will be my longest run in over 2 months! It was getting discouraging for a while watching my weekly mileage dwindle down more and more each week to almost nothing. Thankfully I’m healthy! Getting excited and nervous because I’m ready to start building again! .

Choosing the right nutrition on race day can be tricky... If you’ve ever been in the sports nutrition isle of a shop you’ll know what I mean... 🤯🤷🏼♀️ I try to keep mine as simple as possible. Getting my own bottle in a race can be such a bliss and when I have the privilege of having a support station I use @biogensa Amino Power with a high carb/high caffeine energy gel attached to my bottle. I also carry a few gels with me in strategic places☺️ in case I need it! 💪🏼💃🏼🙌🏼 What’s your nutrition game? #fuelyourfire#beyourbest
