Had a few sessions planned today before getting a kip in Pre nightshift. But the priority was to get my wonderful wife and conqueror of fears out on two wheels.
Tash has made the decision to have a go at a sprint distance tri. To do this she’s upping the running, learning to swim and getting on a road bike to tackle the fear of cycling on roads with those motor car thingys. All this whilst building the muscle around her artificial hip!
I assumed Tashs main challenge would be the swimming having had to learn how to front crawl myself this time last year. But it’s apparent that the worry she gags about cycling is bigger than I thought. We only managed 5 miles and there was a few stops for a) a breather and adjustment and b) to gather herself. She was struggling with the demons! But I am so so proud of how she pushed in through and completed what we aimed to do on the first ride.
I keep fit for the kids. So I can see them growing up but so they can see me take on challenges I didn’t think possible. But I can offer nothing on what Tashs effort today can give those kids.
That a girl @hip_switch_mum. Bloody well keep at it.
