the life of a crazy ass runner....another training week ends with another solid long run under the belt. 25km with a 30min block of speed/tempo in the middle. 107km/67miles in total and feeling absolutely ready. under two months to go and the excitement of race day looms larger every sleep. I love to run. I love to race, but more importantly I love how running draws every single strand of my life into one solid thread that has lead me all around the world meeting all sorts of incredible people and sharing these amazing experiences #runner#bostonmarathon#chicagomarathon#marathontraining#boston2019#churchofthelongrun
These new @heinz beanz are absolutely delicious. Perfect for pimping up a meal, adding protein and fibre. I had these for my tea last night and the flavour is spot on 👌🏼

⭐️ NEW WORKSHOP ALERT ⭐️
Due to the success of my first Pilates workshop at @yogawestlondon, I am happy to announce my second workshop — Pilates for Runners — taking place on Saturday the 16th of March from 13.15-15.15pm.
Has your running reached a bit of a plateau? Are you regularly getting injured or suffering from the occasional niggle? Rather than cranking up the mileage, why not try a different approach, and incorporate some Pilates into your training programme?
A regular Pilates practice can help improve improve suppleness and strength, but it also helps improve balance and coordination, breathing capacity and mental focus. Although running is a symmetrical activity, it largely involves only the lower body, and only in a forwards motion. This can create imbalances in the body — for example, the muscles that move the legs sideways become weak, while those that are overused become tight (the hip flexors and hamstrings).
Pilates helps runners by working the body through all planes of motion — flexion, extension, lateral flexion and rotation — so you get a more balanced workout as well as getting the opportunity to identify potential problem areas caused by running.
To learn how Pilates can benefit your running and help you hit that PB, book your place onto this workshop now! Perfect timing if you have a Spring running race coming up.
Book by the end of this weekend and take advantage of the early bird price — just call the studio direct. Tag a running buddy below and spread the word!
This week, I learned that I’m not very good at running in the snow (I even had special grips on!). But I still ran (of sorts) so there’s that. All the support and incredibly kind sponsorship is keeping me going in these negative temps!! Please do keep donating 😊 every penny counts and goes towards a wonderful cause 🥰
Putting this out there today. My Big Goal.
• Boston • The greatest marathon in the world.
To get there? I need to run sub 3:30, realistically 3:25. So far I’ve done one marathon. Detonated with 10k to go and limped in at 4:01. Work to be done! But, I’ve never been afraid of hard work, and life is better with goals to strive for. Big goals.
And so Boston it is. It’s what’ll get me out of bed at 5am on those dark days. What’ll make sure that I do my exercises each day. That I stretch. That I eat well. Mostly. That I live a simple & happy life, inspired by my running hero @kipchogeeliud
What’s your big goal?
Happy to have completed my first Triathlon! Still waiting for the results...
