Tony Stark was having another restless night. Pepper was across the country for CEO reasons and Rhodey was on call for a mission, and Happy probably wouldn’t pick up at his hour of the night.
Tony blinked at the ceiling before bolting upright out of bed and making his way downstairs to his lab.
He slowed when he reached the staircase, noticing that the lights were on downstairs. He’d turned them off earlier, and it was almost 3:30 in the morning.
His feet carried him down the stairs cautiously, unsure of what he would find at the bottom.
When he pushed open the labs door, he immediately saw you, slumped over your desk.
The computers surrounding you were all running their screensavers, meaning you hadn’t touched them in a while. Papers, pencils, pens, and rulers littered your desk, sketches of something Tony couldn’t quite make out.
Quiet snores came from your body, you’d fallen working on a something.
“Y/n?” Tony quietly asked, not wanting to wake you but needing to know you were asleep.
He grabbed a sketchbook off your desk and flipped through a couple of the pages, amazed at the intricate designs and formulas laid out across the paper in smudged pencil.
He set the book down gently and shook the computer mouse resting by your head to wake up one of the computers.
A message popped up on the screen: DISPLAY HOLOGRAM?
Tony curiously clicked the “YES,” button, and a multicolored hologram popped up above your sleeping head.
He studied it, the different colors representing different things.
It was a suit, the hologram not quite finished yet but very close nonetheless.
Tony smiled and quickly logged out of all your computers after saving your work. Then he shook your shoulder.
“Y/n. Y/n, come on. Wake up,” he smiled when you sleepily lifted your head, hair falling into your face and quickly being pushed back.
“Hm?” you blinked, not fully awake.
“It’s okay. You fell asleep in the lab. Let’s get you to your room,” he said, helping you stand up.
“Dad?” you blinked confusedly, still trying to process what was going on.
“Yeah, it’s me pumpkin. C’mon, let’s get you to your room.” [Continued in Comments ⬇️]
