Recently I had the absolute pleasure of working with Stuart Keegan, darkroom master printer who is working or has worked with the likes of @ilfordphoto@donaldmccullin and many others. Learning about print mapping, fibre based print making and darkroom retouching has made me super excited about getting a printed darkroom portfolio together. It has also inspired me to keep shooting as much as I can! Model: @officialkyi Hair and Makeup by: @abimurraymakeup I am currently spending many hours printing this series of images from 5x4 and medium format negatives.
Speaking of long exposures, this is the longest I’ve attempted that successfully came out which was ~50 minutes. I’d be lying to you if I said I knew exactly what settings I was going to use prior to shooting. It was a total shot in the dark (pun intended) and luckily the original exposure, plus the added reciprocity time, actually managed to work properly.

I’ve always enjoyed doing long exposures on film because it’s not an easy task. I screw up a lot but every now and again I’ll figure out the correct exposure with some trial and error. This was a 15” exposure so shout out to the person in the lower left on the pier who stood still the entire time.
