Usually with the hollow hang we want to point our feet out in front of us in order to engage the core.
For this example I really wanted to showcase spinal decompression and the difference between the start and the end of the exercise.
Throughout the day we tend to shrink a little. Our vertebrae get closer together due to the force of gravity. As we sleep we loosen our and are taller in the morning. This stretch helps to take some pressure off of our spine.
The reason I can almost fully stand on the plate at the end is not only due to spinal decompression. My lats stretching out will also add to this.
The improvement in grip strength we see from this exercise will carry over in many other exercises like deadlifts and pull ups.

I am happy to announce I am now at 122lbs! This was the weight I was prior to falling sick with my autoimmune condition at the beginning of January. My diet remains relatively bland/unchanged. I think it's so important to try to new experiences, especially new ways of training! If you're bored from your usual routine try something new! Believe me you will surprise yourself! You definitely dont have to stick to just one style of training to get the results you want. I've learned that from years of experimenting with a variety of workouts....It's pretty obvious we have a passion for bodybuilding but we've also opened up to a whole world of working out. It helps us stay motivated, learn new techniques, offer more variety of training styles to our clients and find passion for other types of training styles we never knew we would enjoy.
Training in different ways can also help you focus on certain goals, like running! Strength training can help build better endurance and stamina esp if you're gearing up for your first 10k....
or boxing, who knew it would be such a killer upper body workout! 👊💦💥

Gotta say that while I’m pretty happy with my progress at the gym in six months of me being back, my main achievement came down to balancing out my mental health and my overall life satisfaction. For everyone who’s struggling with self image as I always did - I do recommend to go work out just for yourself, not to build muscle or lose weight as a primary goal but to clear your mind and get yourself away from all the daily struggles! 😜 stay strong girls and boys, we got this life 💪🏻
