Лед тронулся, The Spring is coming!
When you guys shoot timelapses, do you prefer to capture RAW images, JPEG images, or videos?
SWIPE LEFT to see the timelapse 😁
Had the camera in portrait mode so that I can add motion in post since IG's frame is 1x1.
I don't have an intervelometer with me so I just shot a 20 minute video clip (24p in 1080p) and sped up 10,000% in post. Ideally I'd prefer to capture photos but this was more for fun so that I can post on IG quickly.
Sony A7III + Sony 24-105mm f/4
Had a wonderful time on Saturday shooting the wedding of the awesome Thomas and Sasha at the lovely Kelham House Country Manor Hotel in Newark. We got really lucky with the weather with the sun coming out for all of it - always nice for the photos :) A fantastic vibe throughout with fun, laughter, magic and some manic dancing (mainly from me!!). I now have over 1700 photos (after my initial cull) to go through and process but after looking through them I can't wait!

A lot of people uses the @zhiyun_tech follow focus motor to pull focus but what I don't see too often is them using it to control the zoom.
With the fast and realiable autofocus features on the new Sony Alpha cameras (like the A7III seen here), I don't have to worry about pulling focus manually anymore. Having control over the zoom at my fingertips does come in handy, you can get some practical dolly zoom effects, quick change of focal lengths before and during filming.
WARNING: DO NOT use the follow focus motor on the Sony 24-105mm f/4 because it will break your motor. It happened to me and Zhiyun was kind enough to send me another one so that I can make this video to share with you guys. The previous follow focus motor was working for about an hour and then died because the zoom ring was WAY too heavy and the Zhiyun Crane 2 follow focus motor couldn't keep up.
Posting this as a tip and a warning for those of you who plan on using the follow focus motor to control the zoom on the Crane 2, which should work fine for most zoom lenses that have a lighter/smoother zoom ring. In this video I am using the Sony 16-35mm f/4 and the zoom ring is lighter so it doesn't cause too much stress on the motor.
Big thanks to @amgstudios for helping me film the BTS for this collaboration. Isn't his daughter adorable?

Got to hike a few trails out here in Hawaii and man, the views are beautiful!
Carrying this little guy with me to capture some handheld b-rolls for fun, something I don't get to do often since most of it is for work.

Remembering about the days of shooting with the 5D Mark III makes me appreciate how compact the Sony A7III is.
Took a break from the gimbal and did some handheld shots today.
Setup in my hand: Sony A7III + Sony 24-105mm f/4
