Fitness is my life! I love helping people reach their goals. Part of what I love about fitness for myself is keeping my body in shape allows me to go skiing and that in turn makes me happy and loving life!! Not only skiing but spartan races, ice skating, hiking, swimming, playing with my kids! It all makes me happy and if I didn’t take care of myself then those things would be harder! Also this girl makes all of those things better! We do it all together I’m so happy to have her on my team for all the things I love to do!
Some people go through life not able to do the things they love because they haven’t taken the time to love themselves and take care of the one body they get in this life. That makes me so sad! It’s never too late to start taking care of yourself. Start small drink more water take a walk or cut your portion sizes. It all adds up and will have a snowball effect on you and your life! Life is too short to live with regret.

There is only a 7lbs difference in photos... This body compositional change is huge! A significant decrease in body fat and an increase in muscle mass.
New the “gym life” we started with the basics and built from there. With the right direction and education he is well on his way to achieving his goal for the wedding.

Your lats (latissimus dorsi) is that large, flat muscle on the midline of your back that stretches to the sides - responsible for scapular retraction, internal rotation of the shoulder joint, extension, adduction, and transverse extension. Focus on building strong healthy lats, and everything else will follow.

Megan demolishing her first try with Zercher Squats and 90/90 Floor Presses 💪🏼 You can probably tell I love the Zercher Squat seeing as I post about it often.
I haven’t found another squat variation that puts you in a position to feel your quads, hamstrings, ass and abs more than this guy.
You can see how Megan’s hips and ribs face each other throughout the movement (that’s a awesome thing 👌🏻). Those are the 30 pound DB’s for ten reps on the floor press 👊🏻 And she likes to flash gang signs during squats 😂

This is what compliance, proper nutrition, consistency, and surrounding yourself with like-minded people can do. Plus being trained by Sarah Zastrow @sarahzastrow will just bring that all together nicely! this amazing lady is a dairy farmer, A mom, she works her butt off, I’ve known her for years and she’s always been that way. Tough as nails, sweet as pie, and obviously an iron will.
I think sometimes we believe when somebody has a job such as farming, or anything that’s Hardwork, that they naturally can stay in shape, and keep their weight off. But you know what Kay did? She cleaned up nutrition big time. Proving that nutrition drives fast loss and then all that hard work in the gym shows through. I am incredibly proud of this woman and friend.

Look at this incredible woman. CONSISTANCY for a handful of months can produce jaw dropping results.
Kay is a dairy farmer, had never lifted weights before, but wanted to make a change. She cleaned up her diet, added more protein and started lifting. She lost 15 pounds on the scale, but even more pounds of fat as she gained quite a but of muscle (and continues to)! I am grateful to have helped her through the process but she took initiative, she did the reps, she ate the food, and now she gets the live in the amazing body that she built for herself.
Kay's results are phenomenal, and YOU are just as capable. So what are you waiting for?

Some of you might remember my "BULLDOG GRIP" post and how it can improve rolled backed wrists during the bench press, therefore, resulting in better force transfer since your wrists will be more in a neutral position and in line with your elbow due to the bar being closer to it since it's being placed near the heel of the palm.
Well, you can use the same tactic for the strict over-head press. Having the bar too deep In your hand can lead to hyper-extended wrists taking it out of its alignment with the elbow increasing the "bar to wrist" moment arm and this can essentially make the lift less efficient for most people.
I would typically advise that your wrists remain in line with your elbow, in a more neutral position↕️ to allow greater force transfer off the clavicle and have a more efficient bar path/ smoother lock-out.
The picture above🙄 displays the more common bar STRAIGHT ACROSS palm grip vs bar across the PROXIMAL TRANSVERSE CREASE grip which is towards the heel of your palm.
So notice the bottom picture and how the bar is closer to my wrist while pressuring against the outside of my lower palm and NOT deep in my palm. You can achieve this by internally rotating your hand until the bar is placed towards the heel of your palm creating pressure in the outside portion of it.
Give it a try guys and let me know if it works out. As soon as I made that adjustments I felt immediately stronger both in the BENCH and OHP.

Tendonitis/tendinopathy (share this infographic about tendon injuries) - Everyone can learn from this.
Tendons connect muscle to bone. For various reasons, the tendon can get strained.
For example, let's say you switch from heel strike running to forefoot strike running and run 5 miles without gradually increasing your distance.
The abrupt switch to forefoot running changes your running mechanics and places a new type of strain on the Achilles tendon thus increasing the risk of an injury to the Achilles tendon.
A gradual progression to running 5 miles with a forefoot strike is fine, but a rapid change places too much load onto the tendon in a short period of time thus resulting in a potential injury like Achilles tendonitis.

A systematic and gradual increase in tendon load will help the tendon to adapt and get stronger!

Today 19 february is such a special day for me, we are 5 years together now and this makes me so happy, I still remember how awkward our first date was 😂 We were talking for hours and I never had someone that was so interested in me like you and it made me feel so comfortable. I also made you the worst vanilla milkshake on planet earth the day after our first date 😂 but we just kept talking for hours and seeing eachother every single day, and after 5 days (so fast) we were together, we had alot of hard times, I was 14 you were 16 so we were both in puberty 😫 it was not easy but here we are, 5 years later, getting stronger everyday, loving eachother more everyday, making plans for the future, I can’t imagine my future without you and we are going through this life together and have the best times ever ❤️ can’t wait till I am your wife ❤️ I love you @basielsteyaert
