When my mind goes to a dark place, I tend to internalize and shut myself off from the #world. Then I become a prisoner to my own #emotions. Finding comfort where #happiness once dwelled is not the easiest thing to achieve. And the narrow path becomes even narrower. But.. I’ve always been a fighter. Even when I was at the lowest point of my eating disorder and thought the end was near, I dug deep and found a way to get back up. Regardless of what anyone says or does, it’s only words and it’s your interpretation of those words or actions that hurt 😞 Don’t be a victim to this! It’s a major trap and it will suck you in, time and time again. The sad reality is, you must make yourself vulnerable at times, and that’s like taking a calculated risk. If things don’t end up like you want, it’s going to sting really bad. But what are you going to do when that happens?! That is the question. Pulling yourself back together, dusting off the dirt and finding a way to bounce back IS the real goal. That’s called #resilience. You need to #practice getting there just like you would any other #skill. This is why I love Indian club training so much. Since I don’t drink or do drugs, I have to find another medium to recalibrate. It’s one of the few things that always makes me happy and gets me into a #flow. And evidenced by the picture, connecting to #mothernature is a big one too. I have to admit, I think I have a slight touch of #spring fever. In my younger days I didn’t understand the importance of preparation. It took many hard losses in life and with my career for it to register that practice and preparation is everything for every scenario. Never thought i could love something more than lifting weights but I honestly think i like this #poledance better than my gym workouts! 😆😂 But I’ll take them either way!😎😛😚 Spent the day working out and i’m super excited about all the goods coming up in the next week or so! This year has helped me learn to work on losing my fears and working with them in the process.
How? First, it might be helpful to take some time and think about what #fear we have. Sometimes, the first fear we have is linked to another fear, and that’s the real thing that scares us. However, once you get to what really scares you - write that down. Now, remember you have or can create a community around you that will help you break that fear. Ask them for help, ask them to be there for you while you do this. They can be helpful when we get scared, just remember it’s okay to ask for help.
Don’t forget to set the big goals and work to achieve them through little goals and cheer yourself on each step of the way. Swipe for a little complicated but informative advice from @jordan.b.peterson on why it’s important and how we can all learn this together.
