Happy never miss a Monday! Just grinding and logging as many miles as possible. Half marathon training week one in the books! Nashville weekend will be here in a blink of an eye!!!!
Everything that could have gone wrong today basically did. That’s ok. Self doubt did not win and I walked off the track pain free.

I have had 2 days off running ....which really isn’t a lot but It took a lot of discipline to actually listen to my body and not run. I have a fear I will drop in fitness if I miss a day.....I know that sounds so silly when I actually say it out loud but I think many runners will be able to relate to that? Yes? Or am I crazy? 😜 .
I have spent the last two days working on my leg and core strength. My last two runs my legs felt tired, my toes were hurting and some of my leg muscles were sore....so rather than running in pain which I have done many times, I decided to actually rest and have a good run tomorrow. .
I need to remember I am coming back from a 6 month injury break and I need to slowly ease back. My mind just wants me to run long distances but I know I need to ease back in slowly to prevent anymore injuries.
How was your weekend everyone!? I just returned to T.O. after some much-needed family time in Eastern Ontario.
I literally walked in the door, dropped off my bags, and headed out for a short run around my hood.
While I was away, I didn’t run once...that’s right, 0 KM’s....and, you know what, I’m OK with that! 🤷🏻♂️
Despite it being beautiful, sunny, and, fairly mild most of the weekend, it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too slippery to risk it!
99% of the sidewalks were lined with ice, and, so I decided to write off my training for a few days.
One silver lining from this was that I got to spend even more quality time with my family, including plenty of play-time with my nieces. These trips home are a reminder of what really matters in life, family (and, friends!)!
Although I didn’t run, I easily racked up a few marathons chasing the little munchkins around! 😅
I’ve found that life has been passing me by so quickly that I haven’t really taken the time to stop and enjoy it. I would trade any run in the world if it meant spending more time with my loved ones!
Instead of dwelling on the lack of running, I choose to reflect on all of the fun & laughs I had this weekend. I received an extra dose of ❤️ & support from my family, I’m feeling recharged, and, ready to crush the week ahead!

I didn’t go into #mondayrunday with a huge desire to get it done. 🙅🏻♀️ My current plan bumped my Monday run up from 4 to 5 miles, but I didn’t procrastinate or complain about it. ❌ As soon as I was done with my weighted full body workout, I immediately drove out to the boardwalk.
It was a bit chilly to start 🥶 but it ended up being perfect running weather for me. Also, gorgeous out! 😍 The tide was super high so the ocean would be just feet away in certain areas. 🌊
I did switch up my nutrition a bit so I ended up doing this run fasted. 🍽 Despite that and getting tummy growls at mile 2, I felt super strong 💪🏻The lack of food didn’t bother me. I didn’t even wanna stop to snap my normal route pic. 📸
I really hope more of my runs will start to feel like this one! Up next is my 9 miler on Thursday so fingers crossed it will go well! 🤞🏻

Running will make you happier 😊💓. It’s the release of endorphins in the brain, the getting in shape, the improvement of your self-esteem and it’s the working towards goals that will make you happy 🌿. You will always keep your bad days, but running helps to deal with them a lot better 🌲.
🇳🇱 Ik heb zoveel zin in de CPC loop 😍. Ben echt benieuwd hoe het is om drie afstanden te lopen. Ik ga niets forceren en echt niet voor bepaalde tijden 🥭. Als ik aan het eind van de dag drie medailles om mijn nek heb hangen, ben ik geslaagd 🍋. Misschien dat ik dit weekend weer eens een 30-kilometer ronde ga lopen. Eerst nog even de hele week visualiseren dat ik dat kan 🐵.

Triathlon training! Koppeltraining in mijn eentje! 40 km lekker peddelen, andere schoentjes aan en de enorme pamper fietsbroek verruild voor een runpants.. Bij gebrek aan een fatsoenlijk triathlon pakkie, want rennen met een enorme pamper tussen mijn benen wacht ik nog jaartje of 50 mee! De punt van dit hele verhaal is dus dat ik mijn extra vrije dag heerlijk besteed heb en met het oog op de halve ironman ik dit vaker ga, uhm moet doen!
