Something a bit different this morning.
Went over to Liverpool John Moore University where I was plugged into machines and run along a treadmill to work out my VO2 Max.
I saw a message on Facebook asking for sub 41 Mon 10k runners to help a local student out with their PhD, so I jumped at the chance to help out. Especially when the main part of the test is to sleep. I think I can manage that!
Not got the full results yet but I'm happy with it, not bad for a chubby self taught runner.
Two different 10k races only 4 months apart. On the right I went for a new PB achieving a time of 41:51 🏅on the left was the start of this month and was all about enjoying the race @maddog10k time to get some of that speed back looking forward to entering some shorter races to see what times I can achieve 💪🏻 #transformationtuesday#asicsfrontrunner2019
It's been a bit since my last good run so I was happy to meet up with my running buddy Erich for 6 miles. A lot of sidewalks are still snowy so It's hard to plan routes without hitting some unrunnable areas. We stuck close to home and ran loops of the lake. Then we discovered that the Switchbacks were clear! We closed the night with 2 repeats and the long way back to the car for a total of 6.5 miles. I tried KT tape for the time and I can't say I'm impressed.
Plantar Fasciitis Exercises (Heel Pain Exercises) 🏃🏃🏃(don't mind the cat 🐈)
Plantar Fasciitis can be a debilitating injury if managed poorly.
These 3 exercises are key when beginning rehab. You should begin these when the initial intense pain starts to resolve.
Loading the plantar fascia is key to stimating collagen synthesis, which improves healing time.
Exercise 1: Calf raise with t-shirt under toes. The t-shirt helps wind the plantar fascia up, increasing the load. A progression is to do this on the edge of the step.
Exercise 2: Plantar fascia stretch. This can improve pain symptoms in the early stages.
Exercise 3: Toe flexion with isometric holds. Try hold these for 5s initially. Increase to 10s as able.

I didn’t go into #mondayrunday with a huge desire to get it done. 🙅🏻♀️ My current plan bumped my Monday run up from 4 to 5 miles, but I didn’t procrastinate or complain about it. ❌ As soon as I was done with my weighted full body workout, I immediately drove out to the boardwalk.
It was a bit chilly to start 🥶 but it ended up being perfect running weather for me. Also, gorgeous out! 😍 The tide was super high so the ocean would be just feet away in certain areas. 🌊
I did switch up my nutrition a bit so I ended up doing this run fasted. 🍽 Despite that and getting tummy growls at mile 2, I felt super strong 💪🏻The lack of food didn’t bother me. I didn’t even wanna stop to snap my normal route pic. 📸
I really hope more of my runs will start to feel like this one! Up next is my 9 miler on Thursday so fingers crossed it will go well! 🤞🏻
Today was one of those hard days I challeng myself against the odds!
First, it was 3:20pm which means it was hot but not that hot 27°C ☺ !
Second, it was a Hilly course! Going up to 2460m above sea level from around 1900m! ⛰
Third, it was windy about 25km/h 🍃 .
Fouth, It was a trail run which means some path was with stones you have to raise your legs up!
The TREE 🎄 in the pictures can show how strong the wind blows here!!
Why I did it?!
Today I wanted to do something difficult, something to challenge my physical being and my mental strength!
I feel so good I did it! And this means my next long will be so easier to run!
Hope you all had a beautiful weekend with racing, running and training!
Wishing you a great week ahead!

"Always believe in yourself and always stretch yourself beyond your limits. Your life is worth a lot more than you think because you are capable of accomplishing more than you know. You have more potential than you think, but you will never know your full potential unless you keep challenging yourself and pushing beyond your own self imposed limits."
