Running great ...
Run when you can, walk if you have to, crawl if you must, just never give up. @ultramarathon
Good morning!! I got in a nice & easy 5k around the resort here in Orlando. I definitely went a touch too fast the first mile which made the last mile a lot more walking then I would have liked but it was great being out there & working up a sweat.
I got confirmation last night from my doctor that I do in fact have Graves & I’m already on the medication to control it so I’m on the right path. Have a great day my friends!

It’s furbaby Friday 🐶 this year has been a touch tumultuous for Arthur and just when we thought he was out of the woods he took a sudden downward turn on Tuesday. Fortunately this relapse ended as quickly as it appeared and he only had 2 nights in hospital 🏥 thank goodness for wonderful vets and pet insurance 💕 Arthur’s back home causing mischief as if nothing was ever wrong.
🎉FREEDOM FRIDAY & FLYING FRIDAY ☄🌈
!!!❤❤❤ Zondag. Oerpolderloop t heidenskip 15km. Ik ben erbij. 💪 .
NEVER GIVE UP - on the things that make me smile. . Love running. Passion. 😍
Have a nice weekend.
Progress takes time...
When I started this heart rate training malarkey, I can't deny I struggled. Struggled to keep my heart rate down, run slow enough, keep my anxiety in check (which in turn sends my heart rate up...!)
Wednesday's medium distance slow run shows so much progress, til mile 8 I was fully in Z2 which I've NEVER been before...and I was faster than usual!
I'm so proud & can't wait for the retest of my blood lactate at @derbyuni HPU.

#FlashbackFriday to the start of last weekend’s #70k#CoastToCoastNightTrailUltra 2019 🏃🏻♂️ in #Yogyakarta, #Indonesia 🇮🇩
It was a fun run overall! The route was actually fun & amazing, too! Going through villages, rice paddies, jungles, steep hills & other sightings was all a really dope experience. I wouldn’t change none of that! The ONLY thing I was a bit disappointed at was the fact that at NONE of the check points and/or water stations did they ever gave me a proper medical 🏥 first aid ⛑! They didn’t even have a proper band aid or plaster to cover my deep gash that was continuously flowing blood for the next 27km & a good 6-7 hrs! They were, however, kind enough to help me clean it each time I’m at a check point/water station. Sometimes they just clean it w water 🚿 & sometimes they used betadine, an anti-bacterial solution, if available. In either case, they didn’t stop the blood from spilling out, especially since I use my knees & legs to run so even more blood was pumped out. To me, for a race of this distance, I’m quite shock that they couldn’t provide me w a proper first aid ⛑ kit until I quit and had to be brought back to the race central where I finally got my stitches. I don’t know about you, but I thought THAT was pretty absurd. Even kindergarten playgrounds or a 5km run, normally, have first aid ⛑ kits! MY SUGGESTION for the organizers of this race is just that: invest in some first aid kits and put them in every check point OR at the very least, suggest the runners to bring their own as part of the mandatory check list. Had I known the organizers couldn’t afford to give me a band aid/plaster, I would’ve brought my own. Other than that, I thought everything else was great and the staff were MOSTLY helpful. No hard feelings, though, but I think the organizers should invest in the safety of runners first and foremost.

Suns out ☀️guns out💪🏼 look at that “speed” work! 😂😂 but seriously friends, I would like to thank the dry-ish pavement and BEAUTIFUL sunny 20°; total breath of fresh air after being stuck in the house 48 hours again with snow day & sick Tatum.
BUT—on this run I began to feel... you won’t believe it after my recent posts...ANXIOUS! .
WTH, you want to know what I was anxious about? A blog post I wrote earlier today about taking back control of my mental health...😂😂SERIOUSLY. 🤦🏻♀️ .
The voices from the battlefield came and started “you should have wrote___instead” “you forgot to write__” “why would you post that?” Etc, etc- You know; totally over analyzing EVERYTHING. .
I kept running, bluffs and sun surrounding me, legs feeling strong, and I took my voice OFF the battlefield - reminding myself what I give a f*ck about, and it is Not whether or not my words were as organized as they should be, whether or not I should have had better content, not what people think, but that I DID it. 🖤
⚡️That I’m working on something I’ve spend years scaring myself away from. ⚡️knowing it is a work in progress and takes time to learn. ⚡️Challenging myself again with something NEW while continuing to GROW outside my comfort zone. ⚡️THATS where I decided to give my fucks to- .
And then I finished my run🏃🏻♀️✌🏻
The grind has finally arrived. I was curious when it would come knocking during this cycle. I don't call it the 5 weeks of hell for nothing. All my paces suddenly feel like I'm walking. It's horrendous but running on fatigued legs is the name of the game when it comes to marathon training. In a few weeks my body will adapt to the stress I'm putting on it. Can I just skip ahead into mid March now though? 😅
