Family fun at this house involves rolling up the rugs and putting giant canvases or rolls of paper on the floor and letting everyone go hog wild with paint, markers, pastels. #ccadalumni#artistsoninstagram#spiderverse
Hello all, and welcome back to another wonderful in #BlackHistoryMonth! We continue our extended trip into the #Spiderverse by talking about Spider Wendy! What’s interesting about this totally real character is that her powers don’t originate with a spider bite. What happened was, during an interview, Spider Man was bitten by #WendyWilliams, causing our hero to transform into Spider Wendy; while gaining all of the talk show hosts powers. You would think such a outlandish character would have gained more notice, but it seems that I’m the only person talking about her. Whatever the reason, I’m happy to be the person introducing the world to the unknown and very real Spider Man incarnations.

Black Cat: Now where is that hard drive?
Spider-Man: Ever heard the saying "Curiosity Killed the Cat"?
Black Cat: Ever heard the saying "Never cross a Black Cat"?
Spider-Man: I don't believe in superstition. I believe in logic like that is the same OsCorp tech that began popping out the past week. Where did you get it?
Black Cat: I took it from the seller.
Spider-Man: Who is the seller??!!
Black Cat: Don't know. Didn't see his face. Oh, here it is.
Spider-Man: Here what is. "Breaks the painting" Whoa why the hell did you do that fo...
Black Cat: Bingo. Gotta go, Spider.
Spider-Man: I don't think so. What is on that dri... OOWW!!!!!

Day 2 @canadiancinematographer IG post (geez, must be an easier way to repost or share this...): “ #JericcaClelandCsc here talking about #cinematography in #animation... A lot of people ask me ‘What it is CG Cinematography’ or ‘How is there a camera in animation?’ Actually, there are hundreds of camera and lighting artists working in the vibrant field of CG cinematography in both animated and VFX projects: feature films, tv, shorts, interactive projects and games. The art form is alive and well--and very relevant (have you seen ‘Spiderman: Into the #Spiderverse’??). It also both draws heavily on the traditional #liveaction#cinematiccraft we all know and love and extends from it artistically, underscoring mood and emotion, elevating #visualstorytelling, and creating a platform for stronger #cinematic presence in digital media.
My first film as a camera artist was ‘A Bug’s Life’. Might look dated now, but at the time (1998 release), it was cutting edge in both #computeranimation and #cgcinematography. I was training in #camera and #staging (aka #shotdesign, #framing, #lenschoice, #cameraangle, #cameramotion, and #choreography) under the supervision of Ewan Johnson and Craig Good and was blown away by the #groundbreaking#backlighting#depthoffield and #atmosphere spearheaded by now-ASC member Sharon Calahan and production designer Bill Cone. The magic mini-world of insects becomes jewel-like and alive through these visual markers, but creating them in computer graphics 20 years ago was a substantial challenge for both technicians and artists! I was so inspired by how my eyes opened to colour, light, camera, and choreography through this initiation into the world of animated feature filmmaking.
If you think about it… in animation, you basically start with nothing and create every aspect of the visuals, including camera and light, from scratch. More on that next post… @spiderversemovie#abugslife@jericcacleland Trailer (bit over-exposed!): ”
