NECK PAIN AFTER SPIN CLASS:
One of my clients was suffering with neck issues after spin classes, so I joined her to check things out. We discovered that her hands were basically playing hopscotch on the handlebars during the class, which was pulling on her neck. Cycling is a sport primarily for leg strengthening and cardio respiratory fitness, so keep that upper body stationary if needed! When the hands keep bopping around to different positions, and the base of support is moving (cycling legs), there’s a risk of straining the neck or shoulders. What a fun class tho! The teacher @Carl.r.morley did a vertical split kick to pump up the energy in class!
I want to say thank you to everyone who help support my ride to fight rare cancer. I am so glad to have all of these wonderful, caring people in my life. As always, it was a night filled with dancing, riding, laughs, and tears! Let the fight carry on because #cancersucks

Not sure how someone can smile after spin but I do. I have a friend who literally has tried to get me to join her for a spin class for over a year. I just laughed and told her there was no way. I finally tried a class at the first of January and am now hooked. Tonight after spin class I was entering my "stats" into my Garmin program and my husband was shocked we did 10.2 miles. Heck I'm shocked every time I go. So now buying a bike might be in our future. Family bike day would be awesome!!! So any recommendations for a bike?

When your trainer literally tapes you into equipment to prevent you from resting....
Welcome to power pedalling! Strap one foot into a stationary bike nice and tight (or use duct tape, it works really well 😉), other foot rests on the centre portion of the bike. Crank that resistance up HIGH! Pedal forward for 30 seconds, then backward for 30 seconds, and, you guessed it, no rest. Do this for 3-5 rounds (each round is a minute), then switch legs. Try to avoid playing with the resistance, it will feel harder and harder as you go, embrace the burn and keep pushing, YOU CAN DO IT! Then prepare for the greatest leg pump of your life and walking kinda weird for a few minutes.
This targets some not as commonly used muscles in the quads (when pedalling backwards especially) and is pretty good conditioning. Feels good when you're done, just ask @chriswood0000 ! Thanks for being such a good sport no matter what I ask you to do 💪 Annnd yes that duct tape is #studeo pink!
In this stage of life getting out of the house to a gym is pretty much impossible for most moms of toddlers working or not. Beyond thankful for this space in our new house to stay fit so I can run along with those kiddos. Also thankful for my hubby who is pretty good at getting deals on equipment. He’s committing to doing CrossFit at home for awhile to help with the budget. .
First week of teaching my endocrine course is over ... I love teaching but it’s mentally and physically exhausting but somehow that latte I had late morning and the full night sleep I had last night = energy to get my booty downstairs after I turned in a continuing education piece I had a deadline for today. It may have been 9 pm but I was not as active this week as normal. Next stop Sauna time!
How do you get your exercise in during busy weeks or with kids around?
Landed my 2nd double since I’ve been back!!😭 I know most of you guys didn’t sign up to see me figure skate, but I’m so proud of myself for actually starting it up again and sticking with my New Years Resolution! ⛸🤗 So I’m here to ask how yours is doing! #kkarmaloveskates
My dearest @class_studios ,
Where do I even begin? First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I can’t believe it’s been a year since you’ve opened those big beautiful glass doors. .
When I found you I had given up on spin, and given up on boutique fitness. I had lived here a year and tried EVERY single class under the moon and just couldn’t find the home I was looking for. .
See, for me, it’s more than a workout I want. I’m looking for community. For a sense of belonging. For a heart thumping respite at the end of a long day. For blood, sweat, and tears. For a warm hello and a hope to see you tomorrow goodbye. .
Class, I have found all of the above in you. From the moment I set eyes in you I knew it was true love. And now, I’ve even found a place on the podium that has brought me so much joy. .
From being in the community, to helping create the community, I wouldn’t want it any other way. I’m so grateful to call you HOME. And so grateful for the tens of thousands of people who have sweated it out with you over the last 365 days. The best is yet to come and you’re sure as hell going to set fire to the rain. .
Refusing to accept current weather conditions, like..
