Just tried the Dinosaur Egg here in College Station. This is basically getting into an EGG of warm water and epsom salts and floating around for an hour. It is very relaxing, soothing, and the music was delightful. .
GREAT for ATHLETES! I don’t know one athlete that doesn’t have sore muscles or some combination of aches and pains. This was the REMEDY! Soaking in a bath of epsom salts! They have massage available as well.
Kinda cutting edge even though epsom salts have been around for a while. You guys gotta try this! Debby the owner is a client and friend of mine and she has many years of experience in massage. She decided to branch out and add something new to her business. So proud of her! Message me and I’ll tell you more!

Rocked my @ironmantri bag at the gym today. After my swim I found my locker 🔑 in the bottom of my bag easily, thanks to @newwaveswimbuoy. My first 🏊🏼 since October of last year, went suprisingly better than expected!
Finished my first full sprint triathlon on my own at the gym yesterday! I am so happy! 500yds (I swam 1,000), 3mile run, 12 mile bike ride! This is the first time I have ever done these distances together and since my actual race isn’t until June I am looking to train for the Olympic triathlon instead of the sprint now! Keep moving, keep fighting! You got this!! ❤️ #sprinttriathlon#triathlontraining#neversurrender#gymmotivation#selflove
Last weeks episode of Coaches on Couches is up on the site and on #iTunes. We talk to our very own Coach Chris Winter about everything from his coaching, training, and racing background, to his transition from collegiate runner to coach and amateur competitor in multiple sports.

Hello, galeraaa!!
Avante !!!

I realise that I am incapable of running and filming without looking like a double chinned sweaty mess but another gorgeous Sunday run- this time in the sun! Whoop!
When I filmed this 3k into my recovery run I felt tired. Decided that time wasn’t the key and just get some recovery Km in but that shows how #marginalgains work. Decided not to even check the @garmin#garmin and just enjoy the weather. Managed to crack out my fastest 2019 5k in the process- without feeling great or that I was pushing too hard! #sprinttriathlontraining#fitfam#sprinttriathlon#tiredmama#sundayrun
Triathlon training!!! Sometimes taking on the biggest challenges in life make you grow stronger both mentally and physically. I never knew that I had in me until my friend who lost his son needed someone to be there for him. So, I had no other choice but to support my grieving friend who wanted to dedicate this race to his son. We both finished the whole triathlon on our first endeavor. Looking forward for the next one.

Sport brought structure and order to my life. I became more organized and I use time more efficiently. 📈🙌🏻Just think about it...if we take our day, how many hours do we spend on social media, taking to friends, useless meetings (even business meetings, that in the end don’t bring anything). Sounds like paradox..but the more we train the more productive and energetic we are, we can do more thing and find somehow time for everything! 💃🏼⚡️Did you notice the same thing about you?😀
The Snake Recovery Drill •
Because recovery day practices get boring and everyone needs to have a little fun right?!! Also, it build teamwork as everyone has to work together, and the lead swimmers get to work on their underwaters as they need to kick until the last swimmer in the snake passes. •
-Swim freestyle in a line (3-7 people)
-Once the first person hits the wall and flip turns, they will dolphin kick or flutter kick under the snake until they pass the last person in the snake
-Everyone following the lead person repeats the same as above and kicks underwater until they pass the last person -Rotate positions by 50 or 100 so everyone gets the chance to kick underwater for varying amounts of time •
-Although this is meant to be fun, remember that practicing good technique during recovery days is as important as any other day
-Have swimmers focus on their underwater kicking off the wall as a focal point
-Use fins if you feel necessary
Swim fast! #techniquethursday
-Split Swim Co.
Great speed work night after taking the last two days off!💪🏼 My body just felt like it needed a break and when you know you know, ya know? 💁🏼♀️
Now it’s time to gear up for my next race in late March....hopefully the skating rinks (aka streets) will melt by then😜
Some tips for becoming a better, smarter and stronger cyclist 🚴🏼♀️ 🚵🏻♀️🚵🏻♂️(as well as how to be more comfortable on the bike)
1️⃣You can always get better as a cyclist. Don't ever give up.🏆
2️⃣Train with a power meter.
3️⃣Learn how to change your gears appropriately and how to adjust gears before stopping. This includes how to anticipate changing terrain.
4️⃣Learn how to switch from the big and small ring while drafting.
5️⃣Be sure your bike is set up with a hydration system that is easy to access (ex. rear bottle cages) and that all bottles are secure. Plus, learn what your nutrition needs are for each individual workout.
6️⃣Learn how to brake properly, especially before stopping or if slowing down in a group.
7️⃣Relax on the bike.
8️⃣Maintain good position of your seat bone on the saddle.
9️⃣Learn how to pedal smoothly.
1️⃣0️⃣Don't be afraid to ride with others but be sure you are not taking your time away from your own specific training.
1️⃣1️⃣Don't ride scared.
1️⃣2️⃣Learn how to change a flat tire.
1️⃣3️⃣Learn how to anticipate other objects around you, possibly getting in your way (react quickly but smart).
1️⃣4️⃣Practice scenarios similar to race day. Set up your bike, wear clothing, wear HR monitor, stuff jersey pockets, etc., similar to race day to get use to what "it" feels like.
1️⃣5️⃣Be sure to have a bike that fits you—don't buy a bike and then try to fit it.
1️⃣6️⃣Know how to dress appropriately on the bike and invest in comfortable shoes, helmet, bibs and aero jersey with UV50 ( I wear @designed_for_cycling )
1️⃣7️⃣Ride safe, wear a Road ID and have fun!
