I just uploaded a new resource onto TPT for Women’s History Month 🥰🥰🥰 Click on the link in my bio to find my store and some new Exploding Boxes too ... tonight I’ll be adding a Continent Exploding Box. Great for the littles and the upper elementary kiddos too 👩🏻🏫👩🏻🏫👩🏻🏫
You are not assigned to be the coolest teacher or their friend. You are to teach with respect, love, and firmness. They may not always like it, but they will respect you and thank you down the road.💜 Teach in the Light.😉
Spread the L O V E 🧡 Today I had the reminder during our class meeting that we need to spread some more love around the classroom. Groups are struggling to work together + we are all losing patience with each other quickly. I realized I need to reintroduce these love notes both as a reminder for M E to give them out & for my students to recognize positive leadership in others. These are on sale in my TPT store tonight! 🙌🏼 DM for Credits/Removal❤💜 : @emmateacher567

do any other teachers look at the curriculum for the day and decide last minute, “scratch that, we are doing something else”? cause, same. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ as a first year teacher i am still learning the ins & outs of the curriculum & it’s hard to make those types of calls. we are onto nonstandard measurement in math and the book’s lessons are so bleh and not engaging. i decided last minute that the kids would learn better from yano, actually measuring instead of just filling out worksheets. soooo i put them in pairs & had them measure objects around the room using markers as their unit. i’m so glad i did cause it was the most engaged they have been in months! we talked about some mistakes we made while measuring, working together (bonus), & why we use different units to measure different sized things. #teacherwin ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ if one of my huge goals this year for my kids was to teach them to be independent thinkers instead of how to write things down to take a test, i need to start trusting myself more & providing them with more experiences to try & fail in order to learn. #iteachfirst#firstyearteacher#teachersofinstagram#teachersfollowteachers#teacherlife#teacher#teachersofinsta
First thing this morning I received an email from *that* parent. They were upset that their third grader has not been bringing home his spelling journal. Little does she know, I tell the students what to take home at least five times before packing up.
She expects me to check his backpack while packing up to make sure he has it everyday.
I think it is HIS responsibility.
Emails like this always kill my vibe. I go above and beyond for my students, but I believe their materials are their responsibility, especially when we have been taking the same things home since SEPTEMBER.
Thoughts on this? #teachertruths#teacherlife#teachersofinstagram#teacherstruggles
Let’s talk about it. When I feel stressed and overwhelmed I immediately go into shut down mode. I stop taking care of myself, I eat whatever the heck I see, and I start playing a record over and over in my mind that I’m not enough, I’ll never get it all done, it’s too much. Anyone with me!? For whatever reason, when I’m feeling overwhelmed with whatever, I tend to fall into these habits, luckily I know this about myself and I have the tools to help me, but it doesn’t make it easier.
There are two weeks left in my current program and I’m jumping into the next one right away. I need to stay in this routine I’ve built and have no time for stress and overwhelm to get in the way. And it’s only a fraction of my day when looking big picture, that’s doable.
There’s always room for you if you’re ready ♥️ .
