Spring is around the corner and soon your dreams of running during a blue sky’s day will come true (unless you live in California and have no idea what seasons are). But until that day comes we’ll be here to provide the motivation you need to get you through the winter 🥶.
Vamos pra cima 🤘🤘🤘
Really pleased to say that I am an ambassador for Sundried. I really believe in what they are doing with their sportswear. Running t shirt made from coffee, clothing made sustainably and with low carbon footprint. They also work with one of my favourite charities Surfers Against Sewage check them out. DM for a voucher.

Getting ready for the Great Aloha Run and stealing sunshine. This hike is a favorite. Training is always hard to prioritize in Hawaii. Tell myself I’m going to run all my favorite trails and instead I end up eating 10 Spam Musubi and a Ted’s pie every day. Also, I’be been dronin’. I need to apologize for all my drone stories.
At the beginning of my senior year at USC, I had this crazy dream of running a half marathon. A friend of mine recommended I join the Triathlon club so I could train with other people - an even crazier idea. I didn't own a bike, and I didn't even know how to swim (I failed a swim test at Girl Scout Camp probably over 10 summers ago, and I swore to never embarrass myself by returning to a pool ever again). But it was my last year before I entered the real world, and I wanted to go out with a bang - and I sure as hell did NOT want to join the marathon club.
Fast forward two and a half years later, I have completed close to 15 Triathlons. I competed in Collegiate Nationals 2017 and placed 1st in my age group at a couple sprint races. My goal was to finish Ironman 70.3 Gulf Coast in under 6:30. I was ecstatic to finish in 8:12 after getting stung by jellyfish, getting 2 flat tires, and having a stomach virus for the whole week prior to race day - I went to the bathroom 8 times (EIGHT). I've also qualified for Challenge Worlds 2019, made the @WattieInk Hit Squad for next year, and became a @HoneyStinger Ambassador.
Why I TRI? I love the feeling of progress this sport has given me. I love that I can eat whatever I want knowing I'll burn it off later. I love how it's given me the confidence to do things outside of my comfort zone. But most of all, I love all of the people that have made up my Triathlon community. If it wasn't for teammates, coaches, fellow racers, ultimate queen @lucycharles93, random people I meet at the pool or on the roads, I wouldn't be nearly as inspired and humbled as I am today. ~ Monica Perez [@mangofuel]
