New year goal: jump high, reach high, dream high!!!!
One of the significant applications of flexibility in gymnastics, JUMPS. If you are not flexible enough, no matter how high you jump, it’s almost impossible to reach a perfect straddle. So step 1, stretching. Step 2, legs power, to jump high, you need to use your quads and hamstrings as primary thrusters, to jump higher, train your calves, muscles around your hips and your glutes. Step 3, to land. Make sure you land on your feet, stick bottom under, and bend your knees to absorb the shock.

Ahh when you are down Cardiff Bay on a nice sunny day and you feel like a workout what do you do? Well there is an exercise park there with various exercise apparatus like a shoulder press machine, a stationary pedal bike apparatus, a leg press machine and other totally useless apparatus which do zero to give you a proper workout, the only exception is the pull up bar and dip bar, and if they had stuck with this theme of apparatus they made you use your own body weight it would be far better. Luckily I don't need any crap apparatus to have a work out, some handstand work and front and back handspring work is all I need, interestingly as soon as I start this kind of exercise the kids in the park start doing the same, soon there are kids everywhere kicking into handstands, doing flips and some super flexible girls doing back walkovers (so jealous). The mini me looked at me and said "dad look what you have started, and look at those girls, they are not pointing their toes in their handstand", she is such a vicious critic, but the whole exercise yard had turned into a makeshift gymnastic training room, kinda felt cool to inspire the kids to do proper exercise.
