If words control you, that means everyone else can control you ~ Bruce Lee - How easily are you angered or thrown emotionally off balance, by what others say or do? - Do you see your anger as a strength, as something that protects you and keeps you safe? - One of the undeniable core traits of confidence is calmness and unshakability. - The ability to unaffected by the words and actions of others. - But despite this most people react, want to get back at, seek some form of payback for pretty much every negative thing said about them or done to them. - But anger is weakness disguised as strength. - It means someone else can set the agenda for your time, for your priorities, they can control how you feel simply by saying a few words. - It means you are choosing to allow yourself to be someone else’s puppet. - Does that sound like, or more importantly, does that FEEL LIKE strength to you? - Would you ever consciously choose to be that easy to control? - And if you wouldn’t, why have you allowed yourself to be in the past? - True strength, true calm confidence is the ability to be unaffected, to remain in charge of your emotions, your agenda, NO MATTER WHAT. - To not be distracted from your agenda, from your journey to creating the life you want to live and to becoming the person you want to be. - No thought, no action, no REACTION stands still. It helps you or it harms you. - So next time you feel angry, next time you feel like getting someone back for something they have said or done, slow down and ask yourself, if your reaction is more important than your dreams. - Because that is the choice you are making, even if you are making it unconsciously. - But now I’ve made it a conscious choice for you. - Make sure you choose wisely.

Serenity comes when you trade expectations for acceptance ~ Buddha - Most people’s inability to let go of their sense of how things ‘should’ be is one the very biggest blocks to their success, confidence and happiness. - This is one of the most misunderstood and deep rooted layers of bad teaching and it causes endless, untold misery. - The problem is that the very concept of acceptance and letting go is badly misunderstood. And so many people talk about acceptance. But almost no-one lives it. - I’ll be honest. I struggled with this for years. When I finally got it, my inner peace, happiness and confidence went to a completely different level. - Nearly all of our emotional pain comes from life being different from our mental picture of how it ‘should’ be. - How people ‘should’ behave, how people ‘should’ think, what ‘should’ happen, what is ‘fair’, what is ‘right’ etc. - And every time people or life turns out to be different to that mental picture, most people get angry, frustrated, upset. - They fight against what is, they push and force life or other people to be something different. They become completely emotionally attached to that very specific picture. - And when it doesn’t happen, they end up feeling disappointed and helpless and ultimate simply say “Fuck it”. - But that is giving up, not acceptance. That’s being passive, not working diligently on bringing about the outcome you desire, but accepting that something different may be the outcome. And that the ‘something different’ may be better than the outcome you had in mind. - Acceptance and letting go means actively, diligently, passionately working on your desired outcome but not FORCING your desired outcome. - It means being attached to that outcome happening, but detached from feeling that it MUST happen. - It means doing all you can but being at peace knowing that if life has different plans they will be for your highest good so you don’t need to fight against them. - Can you feel the difference? - One is pain, needing, forcing. The other is simply creating, doing and ALLOWING. - And that is how you create a life where everything works out for the best.

In the end we only regret the chances we didn’t take, the relationships we were afraid to have and the decisions we waited too long to make ~ Lewis Carroll - The fear of failure is the dream killer. - The amount of life wasted, dreams lost, happiness and joy sacrificed and potential unused because of this one fear is an unimaginable tragedy. - Those aren’t simply words, that is real people, real lives, lives just like yours, gone to waste. - Will you let your life go to waste too? All your incredible potential left to wither and die because of a fear of something that ISN’T EVEN REAL? - 99% of people when considering whether to start a business, approach that hot girl / guy, make that big decision, focus almost exclusively on ONE SIDE of the risk. - What I mean is that they only examine the risks (by which they mean the downsides) of taking the decision, going for it, making the bold choice. - They never truly consider the risks of doing nothing, of standing still. - The false equation in their minds is that they either get to keep what they have or risk some or all of it on the ‘risky’ choice. - And because they (incorrectly) doubt their ability to succeed, the false equation becomes even more imbalanced. Safe or risk with a high probability of failure. - So unsurprisingly most people generally choose to stand still. - But this analysis is wrong, deeply flawed and with awful unseen consequences. - The choice to stand still, when made through fear GUARANTEES failure. - It guarantees that your life will be less than it could otherwise be, that your happiness and joy will shrink. - And it guarantees that you will never even have the opportunity to learn the lessons that could lead you to your greatest success and happiness. - By any reasonable analysis those costs are staggering and complete outweigh the risks of being rejected, or failing at a new business. - The next time the opportunity to make the bold choice comes up, slow down and really consider the risks of standing still. - And you’ll realise that it’s not as safe as most people think. - Then making the ‘brave’ choice, won’t feel like a brave choice at all. Just the obvious one.
