Aku bukan pandai berenang pun. Tah mcm mana rasa nak try new sport. Gigih pinjam swimsuit adik ipar. Pastu singgah swimming pool dpn rumah. sebelum ni pernah ajak @fifyhshm ajar, up lah siket 20% water confident aku. Lepas hidung tersumbat air, terus give up. .
But this time around i was being trained with proper equipments. My captain suruh try pakai snorkeling equipment ni dulu untuk belajar swim. Okay lah at least bila swim tu ada improvement la berbanding last time. Then dah berani siket guna penutup hidung pulak, swim! okay dah mula berani. Mula la nak acah mcm perenang wakil pusat kejiranan. lol.
Lepas tu aku cakap nak terjun. Terkejut captain aku. Baru belajar swim 1 jam nak terjun dah, kau pe hal. Siap mintak rekod tu tak tahan. Masa terjun tu ase mcm wow! Aku berjaya!! Sekali tengok recording, deyy salah teknik daa... 😂
So for those yang baru nak belajar swim, bolehlah guna alat snorkeling mcm ni dulu. seriously membantu sgt. lepas kau dah berani swim, percaya lah mesti ketagih hari-hari rasa nk swim.

Our fabulous teacher Quyen gives us her story today:
"Hi, I’m Quyen (pronounced Kwen). I’ve been a mum for 6 years (Jess, 6 and Alex, 4) and a Water Babies Teacher for 3 and half years. I’m not a natural Water Babies myself and was late to swimming. After a traumatic incident as a child, I hated the water when I was a kid – even crying at the sight of the sea when I saw it on telly. Fast forward some twenty odd years later, and I’m working every day in the hydrotherapy pool as a physiotherapist at a Special Educational Needs college. It is here that I develop my passion for using the pool as an intensive learning environment. I learn about how just being in the water supports physical and communication development as well as having psychosocial benefits.
My negative experience as a child and my positive experience as a physiotherapist made me determined to introduce my future children to swimming as soon as possible. So, when I had my children and Water Babies was recommended by a friend, I enrolled them without hesitation. And because we had such a great time in our lessons, I jumped at the chance of becoming a Water Babies teacher – best decision ever!!!
I love teaching and I hope all of my babies have as much joy in their lessons as I do. One of the best moments as a teacher is when I get to hear all about their swimming experiences outside of lessons. I love hearing about how confident they are on holiday; how they play ‘Quyen’ in the bathtub with their toys; how they pass on their learning to other family members (one superstar was watching his big sister swim and was coaching her from the poolside shouting “use your tiger arms!”).
Keep on swimming and keep on bringing back stories of your swimming adventures.

Well done to all of our Threshfield swimmers this morning for some great swimming and getting your end of term certificate. Hooray! ⭐
Such a scenic drive to the pool and we're always greeted with big smiles and tons of energy from our super Sunday turtles! We even saw a few little ones set off on their own with a swim fin on today. Yay! 💦
We'd love to see any pictures you have of your proud little ones from this morning! 📸

Here is Jenny who has been teaching with us since the beginning!:
"Hi my name is Jenny, I have been in the swimming game for a long time. Before becoming a swimming instructor I used to swim for my local team and loved being in the pool 3 times a week so following my passion seemed logical, I then completed all my courses from age 16!
Being a swimming teacher for over 15 years (without giving my age away too much...) I think I can definitely say I LOVE it, working with children is so rewarding and fun!!
I joined the Water Babies team over 5 years ago now and it was the best thing I did. We truly are a family, we support each other through and through, in personal and business life!
I now have my own little water baby, I had my little boy Stanley in early 2017, so I have just completed my first year back at work (it's flown!!) and it's like I was never off!
I love spending time with my family, friends and my Springer Spaniel Quinny.
A fun fact about me you might not know - I'm also a dance teacher. I run my own dance school and teach Ballet and Tap to children from age 2.5 upwards 😃"
