I took a few days off to reset my mind and my body but I think it had the opposite effect on me. I had a hard time getting motivated today to get active. I forced myself out of the house and into the pool for my first swim test for a 1:33/100 average over a 1000 meter swim. Jumping right in is sometimes the hardest part. #imchattanooga#wattieinkhitsquad#rockthew#prismswimsuit#sponsored
I was always so happy to be out of the water! This year I have focused on making my weaknesses into my strengths. It’s all about the way you think about tasks. If you think it’s a challenge, it will be. You put in your mind what you want, not what you don’t want. I think that’s a big reason why me and the treadmill have become such great friends this year. You learn to embrace things that must be faced. This can be applied to most anything in life. If you say you’re unorganized, you are. If you say you can’t do something, you won’t. I’ll save you the trouble... anytime you have a “can’t do” thought, push it out of your mind and I promise you, your life we be a whole lot easier and a lot more positive. Happy Thursday. #toptriathletes#tri#triathlon#swimbikerunrepeat#triathlete#swimbikerun#mocoracing#fitnessmotivation#fitness#trichicks#wattieink#wattieinkhitsquad
Don’t watch the clock. Do what it does. Keep going. .
Today I didn’t have music. Just my thoughts. It was a perfect time to focus on my breathing. And listen to the rhythm of my arms and legs as they pounded the water. I was bugged for a moment when I realized my iPod wasn’t charged. But then I was reminded that I need to do that more often. I love the sound of the water, focusing on the rhythm of my breathing and feeling the pounding of my heartbeat. I feel alive. I feel free. #wattieinkwednesday
Here are the last two days of 80/20 Running (on the treadmill... Yuck!) Yesterday was a 45min Zone 1 run. Did a good job (besides my initial spike) and the small peak in the middle when I accidentally hit the "Incline 12%" button, whoops!
Today was a 24min Zone 3 Tempo Run with 5min Zone 1 and 5min Zone 2 WU/CD. I had to cut the Cool Down short because I had to get my son to Basketball Practice, lol! Pretty good job again, except for the warm up spike...I think this is going to be a pattern, lol!
Overall I think I'm getting the hang of it. Still working out the kinks of pacing on the treadmill, but for time based runs it doesn't matter much.
Not every workout can go the way you want. 100s on 1:15 send off turned into 100s on 3 sec rest; just didn’t have it in the legs today to hit cruising speed. Hopefully adapting in training pays dividends in June #im703victoria#triathlon#swim#wattieinkhitsquad
“We can do this every night; you can be my ride or die...” Better late than never, but call it #motivationmonday to look back at reasons we push thru the hard days and look forward to the good. So proud of this chick, @tri.byfire and all she’s overcome to get where she is,... 70.3 finisher and recent PR for that distance and working toward IM Choo this Sept. I’m so proud to know her and be a part of her journey.
2018 has been far from stellar for me: overwhelming in every sense of the word and in all aspects of life... So, times are times, but these memories of finishing #imraleigh703 beside my best friend and training partner bring more smiles to my face than any time on a clock. Hell, the fact she still is my friend after all my annoying dances and chants and barking times and paces,... well, that’s a win for me. She motivates me more than she realizes... so even when I don’t want to do the work, she pushes me to be a better and stronger me because she believes in me. That’s the best kind of friend you could ever hope for,... friends that embrace your crazy. If you don’t have friends like this in your life, go find them and never let them go! 😜👯♀️
