// Progress, not perfection // The girl on the left didn’t have much of an understanding of self love, she didn’t know how to be content in her own company, and didn’t understand how the food she was eating was affecting her health. Fast forward a few years to the girl on the right. She is well on her way to happiness and health, she has trained consistently over time and has totally changed her relationship with food, resulting in a body that is much healthier, leaner, and stronger. Not to mention her mindset- she is driven to reach her goals, but is learning to give herself a break every now and then; this journey has come with its ups and downs. She started with small steps, worked hard, and found a love for weight training. Approx 15kg and 8-10% body fat lost, but a lot of self love and knowledge gained. Always with the bigger picture in mind, I can’t wait to see where I’ll be a few years from now.

Today is the day I complete my journey on the amazing @empowerme.project 🌻.
Let’s go through what I have learnt;..

• rest is more important than burning extra calories ✅.
• consistency really is important ✅.
• change is possible when you have the right mindset & support/ knowledge ✅.
• trust the process ✅.
• you can create the life you really want by shifting your thoughts and pulling yourself out of the victim mentality ✅.
• my partner is the most patient human being in the world and I am so lucky to have him ❤️✅.
• the scales haven’t changed my attitude at all ✅.

WEIGHTS OR CARDIO?
Why can’t we have both? When programmed and tailored for your specific goal they both compliment each other to serve a unique purpose. 🙌🏼
Is your goal weight loss? Injury prevention? Increase muscle mass? Increase strength? Athletic development? .. If so, ya’ll need a weights program. The more muscle we have, the more cals we burn at rest 🔥
Obviously each goal will vary on what program you follow in terms of: rep range, sets, tempo, rest times etc
Or as I prefer to call it - Energy System Development. I prefer to call it this as we can be specific for what we’re training for (Aerobic, Anerobic, Capacity, Power etc). Your goal will determine what avenue would work best and compliment your training.
Specifics and rant aside .. don’t over complicate it - enjoy your training! As long as you’re enjoying your training - you’re set for success! 😀💪🏼
