Looking back on last week and I felt the pressure of a #mumthattrains with work as well. The week started great with bike intervals outside! And a first run of the year to #longmynd with @elly.downing. then beset by a couple of sleepness night’s combined with some early starts for work was tired on Thursday- had a fun run session on the road playing with pacing- haven’t done that before so that was a new one for me. Swim tech afterwards had a #torqgel raspberry ripple flavour very yummy- I was tired that evening so happy to bank a mile. Staying off the caffeine for the moment for evening training as I’m regularly struggling with sleep.
Didn’t make parkrun Saturday as birthday celebrations begin for mr Mac so did my whitcliffe brick -rode to top of whitcliffe and back and then ran 5k afterwards- managed a fastest mile😁
Finished the training week with a pimped storm route ride I love it so much I did some of it twice!!! A bit of mental therapy needed there - hit a big section of self loathing but came out the other side. Successes included undoing a wrapper of a bar whilst on the move and eating it and also getting my feet out of my shoes in preparation for dismount without making a pigs ear of it. Getting better at drinking on the move not slowing down quite so much!! All whilst enjoying family time, working, being mum.
So celebrating the end of a good week training- consistency continues- onwards and upwards!! Bye bye last week hello new week and sunshine 🌞 #uktrichat#womenfortri#triathlontraining#thismumcan#duathlontraining#middledistancetriathlon#carryontraining#temeleisuretriclub#temeleisuretriathlete
#pakjekans#coachen#triathloncoaching#personalcoaching#trainingsschema#trispirationeu#trainingpeaks#trainingpeakscoach#trisp#methode#gratis#womenfortri#womenwhotri#triathlonwomen

It didn't take a few weeks, or a few months to get out of shape, and it will not take a few weeks or months to return to the shape I was in four years ago.
If you're battling with your bulge you must realise this, you have to be patient and consistent and the results will come. Ignore people's remarks about your weight gain as it's not their concern.
Keep at it ladies - you're worth it x
I just took a yoga class that I didn't like. I'm not going to share every issue I had, but there is one thing I want to discuss.
The instructor said the idea of self-love is that you can give more love to others as a result, and I disagree.
So many people I know, my younger self included, put everyone else ahead of themselves. They sacrifice their comfort and desires to make others happy. Of course I believe in and try to practice being kind, generous, and yes, sometimes self-sacrificing, but I also believe people should learn to love themselves and feel allowed to put themselves first without feeling selfish or worried they will lose the love of others as a result.
To me, trying to develop self-love for the purpose of loving others better is inherently counterintuitive to the practice of self-love.
To me, self-love is about getting to know ourselves the same way we get to know our friends, thus, befriending ourselves. It's understanding our strengths and our weaknesses, and learning the best way to succeed in our goals by working with the person we actually are. It's recognizing our own flaws and mistakes, accepting them and giving ourselves permission to not hate ourselves as a result nor deny their existence, yet also feeling inspired to work on improving these things not because we can't stand them but because we believe in our ability to grow. It's allowing ourselves to be wrong and to fail and to LEARN.
Yes, self-love does empower us to be our best selves and as a result offer our best selves to others. But if we only love ourselves BECAUSE of others, we're kind of missing the point. Self-love, to me, isn't about feeling worthy of the approval of others or being admired or respected. It's not about having the best reviews nor coming the most highly recommended. It's about allowing ourselves to be exactly who we are and feel worthy of our own respect and admiration and love. It's about allowing ourselves to value the time we spend working on and caring for ourselves. It's about being okay with being imperfect.
I thank the yoga instructor whose class I didn't like for inspiring me to reflect on what self-love means to me.

Clowning around with these ladies while waiting for the elite runners to arrive & whisk them away. My first time working a race & it was SO fun! SO much energy! Hopefully I get this opportunity again next year! @lamarathon@wefitmoms
After a few weeks working back up to being able to ride and teach a whole class, today I tested the hip and legs a bit further with two hours of saddle time. I was pumped to take my new @speedsherpa gear out for a #spin and inspired by the crew around me who was riding TEN STRAIGHT HOURS to battle MS! Hoping to keep adding on the #training hours and intensity, aaaand hoping if I keep progressing I’ll get to take these legs and this kit out for my first real #run in a few weeks. Anyone from #speedsherpanation down to join me for that??? #speedsherpaproud

Back to the pain cave, sweating it out today after being out of town for work all weekend....which meant long rehearsals, late night performances, and then fitting in my early morning 4 and 5 hour workouts. It was hard for others to understand why I wanted to go home and go to sleep, why I don’t want to spend late nights at the bar drinking, and why I’d rather get some rest so I could ride my bike 80 miles the next morning. They may call it crazy, but I call it kicking ass at life!!! 💪🏼🔥 #crazy#crazyfortriathlon#kickass#triathlongoals#sweat#paincave#triathletelife#nevermissamonday
First climb of 2019. It wasn't easy. Biking out to the canyons I found that an avalanch had taken out the bike trail and I'd have to find another route.
Durring the climb its self I felt strong but out of shape! I held a high cadence, was able to attack on the pitches, and had a good mix of time spent in and out of the saddle. By the time I made it to the summit I remembered how great it feels to climb⛰
One of the things I love about endurance sports is how they are a parody for life. If you want to accomplish something big there will be obstacles to overcome. There will be moments when it is hard. When you feel like your not ready. But if you want to reach your goal you will have to get out there and give it your all!
Happy riding this weekend! Are you tackling any "mountains"?
