When picking a male it’s good to capture the range of possibilities inherent in a strain. Dense stacked flower on left carries more broadleaf character, purple streaks in flowers show more potential to carry purple into the progeny. Middle plant is a great hybrid of the parents, close to 50/50, flowers are more open and longer than first male, great crystal count and strong nose. Right side leans more narrow leaf, got the stretchy and open flower, good crystal, more classic sativa nose, gonna bring more sativa/narrow leaf into the cross. I chose the middle one to work with, he fit just what I was looking for. Pheno hunt of the progeny coming soon!
Super Silver Haze #2 x Arcata Trainwreck from many years back. This was the mother of my SilverTooth cross that I used males out of for many crosses during the 2000’s. The Super Silver Haze was selected out of ten seeds brought to Cali from Amsterdam in ‘97, the year it won the Cannabis Cup. Still some of my favorite weed ever. Ditto with the Wreck, this was the original 90’s Wreck which I have heard people say is Kenyan, unforgettable flava. The cross of the two was electric, super high energy, work weed. Kept me powering thru many a day. Great crosser cause it always carried that euphoric vibe forward in the progeny. The cross to @breedersteve Sweet Tooth #3 heavyweight male gave me the SilverTooth, to me an ideal middle ground of the three strains it’s built from. Still in the lines... coming from Higher Heightz. #phenofinders#itallstartsfromseed#cannabisbreeding#pheno#phenohunter#strain#strainhunter#playingwithfire#fireaf#cannabis#cannabiscommunity#cannabisculture#cannabiseducation
